rear axle - 3/17/2003 12:12:21 AM    poppy-red   Posts: 1 Joined: 3/17/2003 From: United States Status: offline hi, i recently purchased a '65 coupe.i believe it has a 3.00:1 rear axle ratio. is it true that it makes me get better gas mileage, but hurts my acceleration?? i don't know much about the rear axle. any feedback would be great. thanx a lot. It definitely cost you acceleration though. stepping up to a 3:27 or 3:55 would make you feel a nice boost in acceleration and will be reasonable on gas mileage. (in reply to poppy-red) Post #: 2
