I had not been to a particular track is a few years (Maryland Int. Raceway) until last weekend. They have a class at the test and tune called "no time" which as it implies, you make a pass and nothing shows up on the scoreboad. This is done so when the gamblers race comes up or a grudge match is called into the lanes, you can run against someone and they don't know exactly what you run.

The class is $10 more than the regular test/tune. I don't see the point, but I am not there on Sunday to grudge match and try to take someone's money. Regardless of my opinion, I was wondering if any of you guys have this at your tracks or have run this class?

Both of the smaller tracks I go to do this. It's mostly a "street racer" thing. As you said it is for the gamblers who don't want to blow thier cover and lay all thier cards on the table. Running no clocks is a good thing IMO because it helps get the would-be street racers to the track and off the street. Most of the guys who were the big hiiters in the Chicago street race scene a few years ago have since moved on to legit class racing and don't care anymore if somebody sees thier time.

True on the street racing. We have our own street racing problems here in the Metro Washington DC area. It is however really cool to see a guy drive off the street and put away a car that arrived in a stacker trailer towed by one of those MONSTER Freightliners!

That is a good time. One time we drove to Union Grove in a LS1 Camaro, ran low 11's putting more than one "big dog" on the trailer and then drove it back home (over an hour each way) and still got over 20 mpg

"most" tracks, will not show your time if you write "NT" next to your car number. Usu lay the people that do this are:

Really really fast.
Really really slow.
Ricers.

Our local track does this every saturday night.. they have "midnight drags" where the board is not on all night and no slips are given... its supposed to be for the street racing crowd.. but I prefer the boards to be on.. I like to know what I ran.

They still give a timeslip, only they cut it in half so that we only see our time.
