Default What exhaust is in your convertible?

Hey everyone: I want to put a good-sounding exhaust in my pony, 96 gt. I want to know what you vert owners have, and what exhausts you find droning, or just too loud that you can't hear the stereo or have a conversation. C'mon! Tell me what exhausts you have, and what you think about them. Thanks!

My friend has thew flows on his 00 vert and he wants my SLP LMIIs. He says with the top down it is to loud to have a conversation but he thinks my LMIIs would be perfect. They are more deep than loud until you really get into it.

See that's what I'm looking for: A good deeeep tone, and not like a ricer v8 you can hear coming 10 blocks away. I want it to be loud when I want it--at WOT. Otherwise, a nice, rumbling will do fine. I'll check those SLP loudmouths..the dude in the post up before has a vid of those exact mufflers I think... is that what it sounds like?

What about MACs vs. Flowmasters?

These are the ones I'm looking into. Any ideas?

Magnaflow Magnapack catback, MAC prochamber H pipe on the 2001. If I keep it below 2k RPM its fine, above it gets loud. Cruising interstate its almost just to loud, but everyone says it sounds great.

'98 GT vert here with MagnaFlow catback system. I have had it for over a year now and the mufflers are starting to blow out a bit and have increased their rumble. Only beef is the left side rear pipe going over the axle with my Steeda sport spring lowered suspension......bangs like hell on the sway bar when you hit bad pavement. I think others have experienced this as well. Kinda a big PITA. Have to figure something out to stop this once and for all. Might have also been a bit of a bad install. Many of those going around on all aftermarket systems. Too much beer and not enough BOCES.

OK, so I've heard some very happy magnaflow/flowmasters owners, and unfortunately, many more with reservations: too loud, don't last very long, etc. So, as of today, I am the proud owner of a MAC Flow Path catback system. Just bought it on eBay, and now waiting for it to arrive:

Take a look at the listing. Tell me what you think. Thanks!!
