Well guys, she hit me with this last night. She loves the Pony, even more so after I installed the muffler from my GT.
BUT, now she wants a GT, I want her to keep the V6, she is insane as it is the way she drives I can't imagine her with the GT.
So, since she normally gets whatever she wants, next year I'll probably get her one, help me come up with the words to talk her out of it.....

Simple.. call it stupid.... figure out how much you will lose in selling this car, and how much more you will put out. Then, put this money in investments for 30 years, and see how big it gets, and let her know she can retire 2 years sooner.
Did you get her a CAI nad tune yet? That can help a lot. Also, for $5500 or so, you can supercharge the car with a ProCharger (installed) and then she'll be faster than you. $5,500 is a LOT less than you will lose selling your current Stang and buying a new one.
ALSO.. in 2009 the new Stangs come out and again, the GT will have 350+ horses.

1 word..... or name....or something: Ebay
1. take her car one day, tell her ur gonna trade it in
2. have some GT takeoff body parts shipped to ur workplace
3. Install the GT parts away from home
4. wash the car, clean out the inside, maybe spray a special fragrance??
5. and yeah maybe install intake/tune.......S/C?? who knows
6. Return the car home with a big smile
7. Enjoy nice evenings in the bedroom until she looks under the hood :D

Nothing wrong with getting a GT, but you already have one. Buy some mods for it, a CAI/Tune from Doug or Lidio make a night/day difference in the car. Then take her to a bed and breakfast and spoil her. Tell her with the money you save, you can spend on her vs. a GT.
Or, just get the GT, nothing wrong with it.

She has this thing for the way mine sounds with the MAC's, the V6 as much as I like it will never sound as good as the V8, just my humble opinion. You met her, you saw her eyes when I mentioned upgrading her exhaust, she loved it, but she likes mine better I guess.
I think it's a phase, I'll talk to her tonight, I thought about ignoring it for awhile, bad idea. I'll explain how a CAI and tune will not only increase HP but MPG as well. But she is stuck on the GT's sound right now.... she could be playing me too, who knows. ;)

Agreed 100%, my wife and I are a team and I can be a Neanderthall, just ask Traken but I do respect her and we make decisions together. I prefer to keep her happy because as you know, pissing off the wife only gets a guy one thing, and it's never positive.
I think she will stick with the V6, she loves it but I think she is just going through a phase of I want something more, not better mind you, just more, she thinks my GT sounds awesome and knows her car can't sound like that. Nope, Congress wrote a law, a V6 can't sound as good as a V8, I'm almost positive of it... if not, they should.. :D I have to admit, the 4.0 has a distinctive sound that most V6's can't duplicate, very good sounding engine indeed! BUT, not as good as a GT... ;)

Just start griping about how you have to fill up with gas like every 4 days with your GT and gas is so expensive, you love your car and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world, just you wish it was more economical (this snippet doesn't have to be true). Just make her realize what's on the other side of the coin. If you've not put a CAI and a good tune on there, you might start there. or maybe some 3.73s or 4.10s so she feels like she's going a lot faster. Get her all 3 and I bet she'll have a hard time noticing the performance difference.

LOL! Well the secret to having one is to decide you don't want one, then you can't keep from getting pregnant no matter what ;) Our first two were fully planned and we patted ourselves on the back for being so responsible. Then we decided two was enough (the second was a terror when she was little!) I remember we were sitting in a restaurant and a young couple was trying to get a baby to quit crying, and we were saying "Wow, aren't you glad that's not us anymore?" Talk about living to eat some words :D Yup, along came number 3. But he's shaping up to be a big car and motorcycle nut unlike his sisters :) The Mustang is not a kid-friendly car, simple things like dropping the kids off at school becomes a chore. The kids really like the Mustang though, they've made me swear not to sell it :)
