lol, my bro inlaw has an 06 gt v8, sounds beautiful and mean, his friend has one with custom exhaust (dunno what 1 tho) and i STILL think ry's v6 would win a sound clip tourny.
Paul
Nope, Congress wrote a law, a V6 can't sound as good as a V8, I'm almost positive of it... if not, they should.. I have to admit, the 4.0 has a distinctive sound that most V6's can't duplicate, very good sounding engine indeed! BUT, not as good as a GT...

Sorry man, can't lie....go for the gt, what i woulda got if i could of afforded it. If i got about 10,000 extra bones, i would definately upgrade and i do mean UPGRADE to a GT
You guys are a blast.......I had the V6 pony first and loved it until I test drove the GT.......that was all she wrote....but I will admit I have to watch myself sometimes........I have a lead foot and with the GT you have to be aware of the extra horsepower.....so it seems you are a concern and considerate husband and I'm sure together you guys will make the right decision. Damn I should write for a greeting card company

Just start griping about how you have to fill up with gas like every 4 days with your GT and gas is so expensive, you love your car and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world, just you wish it was more economical (this snippet doesn't have to be true). Just make her realize what's on the other side of the coin. If you've not put a CAI and a good tune on there, you might start there. or maybe some 3.73s or 4.10s so she feels like she's going a lot faster. Get her all 3 and I bet she'll have a hard time noticing the performance difference.
Ok, she just called me and told me NO GT!! She just spun her Pony in the rain and said she has no interest in the GT after what she just did in her V6... WOW.

Seriously, though. I betcha if you switched her to duals and threw an intake and tune on, it'd definitely make her happy. :)
I think she has been cured from her wanting the GT. But I am going to order the CAI and XCal and also the hood struts, that should help... the GT cast off sounds fantastic on her car.

Good news! Your wife sounds very cool. She's going to enjoy the CAI and tune!

When I put XM in my wifes truck, she feel in love with it all over again. Since then shes been keeping it clean, washed and waxed. Sometimes with wives, its the little things.
And yes, I'm with you, its a partnership, you don't tell her "no" like you would a child.
Rygen, as if it weren't enough to teach me half of what I know about our cars, you even throw in a little life lesson every now and again.
You are the man!
Oh, and Viking -- I think the CAI/tune route (along with those duals) will be a great compromise! Now get her an LSD and some suspension upgrades so she doesn't spin out again!
Here's hoping I end up with a Mustang-lovin' wife too! -Tim

She is very cool and smart enough to know her limits, thank God. She loves the GT muffler and I'm sure when she sees me working on her car some more she'll know I like the car as well. I think the '05/'06 V6 Mustang is the best V6 Mustang Ford has ever built and it's a blast to drive with the Pony package.

The Pony package comes with the same basic suspension as the GT, only with the V6 it's actually closer to a true 50/50 balance and feels great in the turns. She just needs to slow down in the rain.
I hope you end up with a Mustang lovin wife as well, good luck!

She needs to be careful. There are alot of nut jobs out there especially in the Chicago burbs so everyone needs to watch out for them (Im not talking about your wife, just the other drivers on the road). Stay safe.
