All,
Have 1994 Mustang Convertible with 3.8L V6. Engine has 131,000 and did not burn or leak oil between changes. The head gasket failed while driving around 55 and had vehicle towed back to the house. Disassembled the heads and everything was in great shape except the flateness of the head that blew the gasket. The tolerance is .003-.006 and this head is at .009 in the center. Question is will the bottom end hold if I have the heads/intake shaved so they are in spec again? The cylinder walls do not have any scoring and with the motor fired right up after is cooled down (lots of white smoke). Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tony
