Just curious if anybody else has had a chance to read about the GT-R concept Mustang. It's based on the 2005 body style and is going to be built with the 5.0 DOHC engine, which uses a Ford racing block which is redesigned for strength over the 4.6, and uses a Cobra 6-bolt crank and Manley forged rods. I guess it's going to be built strictly for racing. I don't know yet how I feel about the new body style, and I'm going to give it time to grow on me, but this concept car looks absolutely amazing! Oh what I wouldn't give to take THIS out for a spin!

The Engine alone will set you back 15k, now thats insane. I'd say if they do sell them as a limited addition ala Cobra R, price will be close to 60k.

It's the Cammer engine right?? There was a HOT ROD article on that power plant last month. I believe it's just going to be an FRPP option.

So this car is coming out for sure? Or is it just an idea?

I personally LOVE the idea of the 5.0 back in a car, with DOHC. 440 horses is A Lot!

But it looks way to much like a riced out little teenagers punk car.

It would look right if it said honda or something.

It's not ford's style.

Look what happened to the PROBE?

They discontinued it. Why? Because they didn't sell enough.

The PROBE had NO chance at taking over Mustang.

CAN WE SAY JAP CRAP!

They were to SLOW!

Compare the 89' PROBE turbo to the 5.0.

NO CONTEST!!!!!!!1

I wouldnt really dog that car until you've drivin one. I own an '89 mustang GT, & a '96 Probe GT. I could beat stock mustang GT's until around 50-60mph(thats mine, 93GT, 94GT, 96GT, 97GT). The probe ran a 9.7 in 1/8th stock. Could have also been the drivers too though. I like the probes looks & handling more than the mustang, but thats about it. The mustang has way better sound, RWD , & has more potential. You should go test drive one of the 93-97 5spds with a decent shape engine.

Well what do you think is sitting next to my GT a 96 Probe GT p.o.s and NO it cannot take a GT nor has it ever had the ability to do so. And your not comparing apples to apples here either the new stangs by far manuver better than the 89s. compare a 96 stang GT to a 96 probe GT and you will know what im saying!!!

Hmmm... mabey your probe sucked. Plug wires might be crossed?. I managed to beat a '94, '97, '00 Mustang GT in my Probe, I guess you just have to know how to drive.

I dont know but for being a GT-R and the racing car i think it should have a bit more torque but I mean still its a good amount I wish my mustang had it.

The '94 and '97 I can believe, but the '00 I have a hard time buying. I raced a '96 or so Probe about a month back in my Maxima and pulled about a car on him. So, if you beat the '00, they just couldn't drive.
