Hi, I have a quick AOD question. I'm putting an AOD into my Stang out of a T-bird, so the tranny was originally in a column shift car with the cable attaching from the engine compartment. Obviously, my Stang will be a floor shift car and from the way the cable lines up it looks like I'll need to reverse the shift lever on the side of the tranny to point down rather than up.

Can someone confirm that for me? Also, how do I get that lever off? I've tried prying gently and it won't come. My guess is that I need to take the pan off of the tranny and there is some sort of retaining clip on the inside? Help!

Thanks, Scott Eggenberger

I do believe you have to drop the pan to get the lever off.
