And how the hell is he gonna spin the tires less at 3000 rpms than at 1500 rpm launch? I'm starting to think your friend is a slice of bread short of a sandwich.

The thing with reving up autos are you put one foot on the gas and one foot on the brake and you press the gas till 3000 and when you hear the 3rd horn you let go of the brake and hit the gas

If you have a low torque automatic that needs to be revved high just to get a decent launch, why bother racing? BTW, you're friend will still get owned......even with his new "trick"

hey that 14.4 is what the factory says the altima will do, with a pro driving and the perfect run, very hard to do. not sure what an auto gt will do, my 5spd 01 gt just did 2 back to back 14.8's @ mid 90's....if that helps.

Are you a God ? Thats very possible. However, the GTO running high 12's is not uncommon at all. Chcek out www.ls2gto.com Edit: Actually, when I said bone stock, thats not completely true. The GT had an eBay CAI, a tri-ax shifter and a MAC Catback. Not that those actually did anything.

I go to the track all of the time, I have friends with GTOs. I know what they can do. Gm boys version of stock and really stock seem to very quite a bit . Tracks vary. I rarely see them run that well. However, I have seen it. I'd also had days where mine would only run a high 13. A few weeks ago, I met up with a bunch of people from the GTO board at US41. There were a handful of them running in the 12's. Mostly stock, but the ones that weren't ran low 12's, and into the 11's.

From what I see out of the GTO. The manual can run 13.3s but usually run 13.50s. The auto can run low 13s but usually runs mid to high 13s at around 104 to 105. The manuals seem to trap 103 to 106 stock. I am sure with drs and nothing else both can do much better but stock they are not a 12 sec car.
