From a long term prospective, I don't see this car as a future car. I look more towards the ZO6(06).

Man I dont like that at all. Looks totally ricer to me, no matter how many HP are under the hood.

I love it. The only thing I'd change is the side exhaust and tone down that wing. Otherwise it's awesome.

looks awesome as a show car, ridiculous as a street car. but then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. it would look better toned down for the streets.

You're right, it is functional. But hell, you DON'T need a wing that large to be functional, much less one that ugly. The mighty chrome gas tank, huge GT-R logo, nice unmatching carbon fiber hood, butt ass ugly exhaust.....it's a nice body style, they just ruined it. If you guys knew who designed the car, you'd understand.

how about indy cars man....im sure you know alot about the downforce an indy car produces, and why its necessary...please dont say its for looks...and nascar, seriously man, they have elevated tracks. the downforce isnt necesarry....if they raced on flat tracks, they would flip in the turns

yeah, actually they probably do have the same power/weight ratio...they are both tube frame chassis race cars.
and about ricers with wings, we all know its for looks. but im not going to say anything about the gtr. i know nothing about it, and its not even on the market yet. we will just have to wait and see

I can see how someone might say its a tad bit rice, but who the hell cares, that thing is awesome! I dont see the problem with the wing, it adds dynamic:D, and since it is a rear wheel drive car, it does a little good, completely necessary or not.

Yes, everyone has their own opinons of things, that's the whole reason why people have debates. In my original debate, I never flamed anyone or said anything derogatory toward anyone. Then said douche bag above has to show how intelligent he is. WTF was the point? My opinion is that the car would look great with some small modifications to it. This car may have a top speed of 170mph, and that's stretching it a bit. Look at those pimp ass aerodynamics. Nothing flys through the air quite like a box....

Here's another thought about the GTR...

The looks of the car, if it becomes saleable to anyone, are subject to change. Remember the concept GT (Mustang) from the 2003 Auto Shows? The production intent Mustang looks a little different due to crash protection and other practical production-vehicle crieterion that this car must satisfy. Relax... Ford is not selling this exact GTR right now anyway.

Plus, which of us wouldn't modify our cars no matter what the factory puts on them? Personally, the '05 Mustang is so much better than the current one, I am willing to let a few cosmetic errors slide. I will just modify the parts of the car I feel are not adequate (wheels/tires & handling are all I forsee changing). The interior is great. The exterior is also great in my opinion. :)

If a big wing like the one on the GTR are not necessary, why does Max. Motorsports have one on their shop race car? Don't even try to argue with them about handling. They are the second most successful Mustang racing company behind Griggs Motorsports. These guys are pros.

The wing should be a little lower, and the "bolt on" chrome around the exhaust should definately be removed and the exhaust should look flush, with more of a square shape to match the lines of the car, almost Lightning like. Then I'd take one.

I found some specs to the car, but no telling if they are acurate...supercars.net (http://www.supercars.net/cars/2004@$Ford@$Mustang%20GT-R%20Conceptg.html) Specs are at the bottom.

And that photoshop pic of the GT-R, is the way I would want to see it on the road.

Guys you are NOT getting it (real or imagined), it is a purpose built race car for the American LeMans series.

You wont get unless your into road racing, it will be a GT class car racing against the likes of Porshe, Ferarri, Acura, and, Bitch Means Well.

I am trying to find out if I can order one. The price will be north of 200K! And no it is not street legal, you need an SCCA license just to buy one. Kind of like the orignal SVT's.

Down force is not created by that type of wing. Down force can only be created by a wing that is off the back end. That wing could only help the car fly.....LOL

I would like to think that after some long study sessions in the wind tunnel they discovered that it provided a lot of functionality as with the Cobra R. But maybe not, somebody in the design team my of just thought it looked cool.
