I am putting a 351w into a 68 coupe and need to determine which fiberglass hoods will fit this application. The engine is not in the car yet and it's time to paint! I favor the Shelby ram air style, yet feel the 2 inch cowl may be more suitable? Any help is greatly appreciated here.

A 351W will fit in there nicely without the need for a cowl. MPG Heads now makes an exhaust and motor mount kit that allows you to drop in a 460 and still use the stock hood. Having said that I believe www.usbody.com www.up22.com and www.mustangsplus.com all make cowl hoods for your car.

I agree, you can still use your stock hood unless you run a high-profile intake. I put a 392" stroker(351W) in my -68FB with an Edelbrock Jr. intake an a 2" aircleaner. I installed a -67 style Shelby fiberglass hood made for the mustang front-end. Looks and works great!
