I've had a few good experiences with putting up a "#1" or a small head nod when another '06 Mustang comes my way, however there's been a few times where they don't do anything back. Am I alone on this or do you guys do it too? I've also had a few of them park next to me too. I think that's pretty cool.

Heck, I even give a "thumbs-up" to the '65s - lol

Don't always get an acknowledgement back, even from the '06 folks, but that's okay.

He obviously checks for pony tribar wheel center caps before waving to weed out the '05 riff-raff ;)

Haha, I'm not hating on any other years. It was cool one time on I-95 a Red stang just like mine and I flew at about 100 from Georgia to North Carolina...a fun trip indeed.

That's exactly what I was going to say. Drivers of Ford trucks have given me the most thumbs up. And the second group are what I call "people who drive cars I'd want" i.e., Porsches, Mercedes, Vettes, etc. Oddly enough though, I really don't see all that many '05-'06s around the Chicago area. I might see one other new style Stang between my commute to-and-from work, not including the three others in the lot where I work.

I finally gave up on waving, it seems that 90% of new Mustang drivers in the DFW area are women talking on their cel phones. I respect and admire the women on these forums that are true Mustang fanatics, but the women I see around here don't seem to know a Mustang from a Civic. I look and if the other driver waves I'll wave back, but it's very rare and almost always is a guy in an older Mustang.

Yeah, it's also a tad embarassing when you have a passenger with you and the other stang doesn't wave back...

Hehe. I've come to the decision that my car is actually invisible to the naked eye.

I try to give the thumbs up at any Mustang I see but no one around here seems to acknowledge it. Heck, I've been next to another s197 at a light, and the guy didn't even look over. I think Ford messed up my paint job. It was supposed to be screaming yellow. Not "only cops can see my car" yellow.

I often wave or give a thumbs up or put up the metal horns to people with awesome cars. If I'm next to 'em at a light or happen to be getting gas at the same time as one I always try to get the owner's attention just so I can complement them on their cars - especially with retro-styled or classic cars. They always seem to enjoy the praise even though I'm driving an '89 Corolla. I can't wait till my Mustang arrives so that I can get some complements and thumbs-up back

I've had my Stang here in Calif since February. I started waving when I saw another '06 or '05. Not much response back so I kind of nod and look over now. Years ago I bought a PT Cruiser and I swear EVERY ONE who had one waved!!

I wonder if people that pass each other while ridding the short bus wave to each other...oh wait...they wave to everyone

the whole 'Wave cos you have the same car' or 'Hi I have a Muthtang too look at me!' is way ghey...why do you think the PT Cruiser wave caught on...they're ghey...

Sorry, I can't buy into the whole waving thing. Mustangs are cool but waving at each other...

(yes I have a mustang so )
