Default Went to track last night.

Went to Huntsville Dragway in Huntsville, AL last night. It's an 1/8th mile track. Alot of nice cars! I only got to run twice but here's what the competition was and my numbers as well as theirs.

1st run vs. late 60's- early 70's chev pickup (sounded real fast and looked it too) not sure on mods

my times:
r/t .1865
60ft 2.4352
330ft 6.2885
1/8th 9.4663
1/8th mph 77.48

opponent times:
r/t .2523
60ft 2.4419
330ft 7.0172
1/8th 10.8483
1/8th mph 63.87

2nd run vs. 00's model chev cavalier 2dr (looked and sounded all stock) not sure on mods

my times:
r/t .0782
60ft 2.2080
330ft 6.1803
1/8th 9.3981
1/8th mph 76.56

opponent times:
r/t .3212
60ft 2.3455
330ft 6.6945
1/8th 10.2940
1/8th mph 68.00

Both runs in my completely stock 04 GT w/ exception of VRS O/R x-pipe and custom made 2.5" cat-back with Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. Hopefully with some drag radials I'll see high 8's and with 3.73's or 4.10's with D/R's mid 8's. Give some feedback, I'd like to see what ya'll think. It's hard to save money for mods when the money always goes to remodeling the house and prepping for a wedding. All in all the two runs were the most fun I've had in awhile.

Default RE: Went to track last night.

how much were u spinning ?? or were u bogging ? which is WAY worse than spinning. you SHOULD be faster than that id think....i may not be right. but, id think you would be high 8's, LOW 9's.........my car should be a 9.5-9.6 car........stock '92 GT for the most part.

Edit: at least ive been told i should a 9.5-9.6 car by a few reg racers who have seen me street race against some cars who are in the 9's.

I'm pretty sure my run in the sig had a 9.000 1/8th mile time. If that gives you any idea.

I spun almost all thru 1st and a little in second. The a$$ end came out a smidge in second too. I didn't bog at all. I left around 2700 both times. thru first, my buddy in the stands said my car looked like a dog wagging it's tail LOL. I thought I'd run better than that too. I've heard of guys running 8.90's with a stock new edge with a perfect launch (if there is one on street tires). But my trap speed is right there where it should be for a stocker (so I've been told).

Very Very doubtful guys running 8.9's stock. Look at my 60' and i'm at 9.0.
