wait im confused.. the stripes are blue?? i thought your car is blue.. it looks to me that there are blue stripes on a black mustang?!?

I'm confused too. Did you end up with two large stripes with the small ones down the side of them. Cause from your pics it looks like one blue stripe down the middle with two small on each side. then I remembered your car was blue so that can't be right LOL. Can you take a full car pic to show us the overall look?

EDIT: LOL sorry didn't realize this went on to a second page. Saw the pics at the top.

Since they won't answer the phone or return my call (I left a message), here is the email I just sent:

Hi Bear - This is Maddie with the blue Mustang. After careful consideration, I will be peeling the vinyl stripes off of my car. The job was not done well and I've gotten MANY opinions from other mustang owners that were very negative. To start with the hood, the spaces between the pinstripes and the larger stripe vary. They are in no way even. On the right, they are smaller, on the left, they are wider.
The back is just terrible. Joey said the Pony emblem in the back was off center, in which it's not. Joe and I measured it from the middle to each tail light and I believe it was 15 inches. With Joey's excuse of the pony emblem being off center, the right pinstripe goes underneath it, where the left one does not even touch it. On the trunk lid the entire large stripe is pulled at an angle to the right. One of the pinstripes is unevenly cut and tapers down. The gap goes from wide to narrow. This is unacceptable and I'm removing them immediately and going somewhere else to have these done.
Not only was it not done well, I've brought my car in 5 different days - the first day you did not have the vinyl or a place to pull the car in the back. The following Monday and Tuesday my car was left there for about 3½ hours each where on Friday and yesterday (Thursday) it was there the entire day from 11am - 4:30pm. The entire car is about an 8 hour job - total. It is a huge inconvenience to me as well as my mother to constantly have to drive to your shop to drop off my car and have these stripes put on when they should have been done a week ago - I would think with all the time it has spent at your place they would be perfect, however, they are nowhere near that.
I posted the pictures on a mustang forum, called www.mustangforums.com. The other posters on the website asked me if the person who put the stripes on was DRUNK. Thank you for your time on my car, however, I will not be returning to your shop and the stripes will be taken off immediately.

Maddie

Here is an idea, we all send her $5, maybe then she could have her car done right or have them painted on. That way there will be 1 more killer Mustang driving down the road, instead of yet another plain jain unless you like plain (like me...).

Wow they suck reminds me of the exhaust shop I went to but thats another story, I dont know about you but the car dealer I go to installs them really good for like $300 if I were you I would buy the stripes you want with the pinstripe and get the dealer to put them on because they dont install the ones with the pinstripe. Good luck!

I still haven't heard back from them - I had called around 10:30 am twice, and even left a message, then the email. Funny. Man what a bummer this is...

It looks like the pinstripes are the main problem. Tell them to redo them! You could redo them yourself, but you shouldn't have to.

i feel for you, the dealer had mine fer 3 days trying to get them right, I did luck out though however, as they never did a stripe install on a new stang, the guy gave me a quote of 160.00 to install the kit...3 days later he actually stuck to the agreement. Did kinda give me a dirty look though, said next person wants this stuff done is lookin atleast 4 and up...yay fer me. looks damn good though damn angle of the camera makes them look weird, but i was all anal bout them so i measured the gap :)

That's why the Lemans stripes on Shelbys got wider as they got near the windshield and backlight. The optical illusion is that they look narrower going toward the windows.

Putting it in writing was a very good idea. Document all the attempts you've made to call them just so you have a record in case they decide to sue you for the work done.

Looking at the pictures it appears the left and right pinstripes are not of consistent width, that seems really sloppy. They probably stretched the vinyl as they were applying it in an attempt to get it to form around the body lines, but stretching it also alters the width. Plus it looks like in the first pic you posted that one pinstripe is wider than the other! I wouldn't bother trying to get them to fix this, typically if a shop performs substandard work like this there's no hope of improvement. Remove the stripes and be thankful you haven't paid them anything!

Yeah I just hate that it looks so bad. I didn't want to pull them off until I talk to them but they haven't called me back. I printed a copy of the email also. The funny thing is that I was supposed to drop my car off to them yesterday to finish the bumpers and I was like HELL no so I called them and they didn't answer. SO does that mean they weren't even there?! UGH I'm so freaking aggravated. Now I wouldn't mind paying $400 to get it done RIGHT and in less than a week (it's been two since these @$$holes started working on my car!). I mean bringing it in 5 different times is ridiculous as it is, but for it to not even be right? The spacing is just off, even if they did stretch the vinyl which I'm sure they did - but some of the gaps are wide, some are narrow, some TAPER... ugh. And it's not even the fact that it's a new mustang or whatever - if they can't even get the gaps even on the hood & the trunk lid, then they never knew what the hell they were doing in the first place.

I lost my persian cat 6 months ago, she was four and had been with me since she was a kitten, It was one of the worst days in my life. Be strong and always remember the good times you both had. Sorry about the car, in the end it will workout your way, dont worry , it always does. Modding cars has its ups and downs , sometimes it all comes out perfect and most of the times it takes patience and effort. Good Luck
