Well Domestic vs import is kool, but 99% of the imports are SLOW POS's. AS far as bang for your buck, if you have a car payment, forget it. You dont have anything beat in bang for buck. Well maybe someone with a larger car payment. $5k runs 11's NA on street tires thru the mufflers... nuf said.

Yeesh guys - there all Hot Rods!! You get what you pay for depending what you want to do. You want to go really fast you can buy any sport model car and basically sup it up to beat anything stock. You want to say you have the newest thing out there.. ya spend all your coin on a stealership.. I mean dealership vette.
It's all in what you want to do. It's all relative in Hot Rod world.

American cars will always come out on top... BUT, even still, when i get enough money, I'm buying another Acura so I can leave my stang at home during the week and spend the gas i save on my mods, plus stop putting unwanted milage on my baby... sometimes you gotta give a little to live a little, suffer driving the automatic import then on the weekends be able to drive ur baby all u want and still have money left over! Hmmm I'm thinking of a new pair of stillettos soon... Red ones.... oh sorry, off topic! I can't wait till I get all my mods and can race this towns fastest import.... ASHAMED! he beat me but i will beat hime.... soon

LMAO! OMG! I am a girl, lol! Don't be fooled though, my daddy drove race cars and drag raced... I was taught well! Plus my bf's old vette (1990) was fun to drive when he had it, sold it to get the C5. I'm one of those chicks that gets evil looks on cruising strips because I beat some guys. lol! or won't show them anything cuz I'm a racer not a whore... I'll get a pic of my car soon, don't worry!

This cockiness is why I hate most mustang drivers. You're not the end all be all of cars, I'd MUCH rather have a 45k stock 350 hp Vette over a 94 supercharged gt. Guys with vettes don't care about hp per dollar, they care about having a nice looking car that stock still runs 13s flat.

lol, toydeluxe... the chevys we talk about are LS1s, lmao... LT1s are in the old stuff! I guess the reason u see chevy driver on here is the same reason u see mustang drivers on chevy forums... hey we like to learn, i don't drive achevy but i was brought up as a chevy girl... i drive a mustang and like it, i'd rather have a porsche but thats another story! Chevies aren't bad, neither are fords... Theya re both cool, let them breath! damn!

But I painted it!!! Its not so ugly anymore. Eveyone says it was in improvement over before. I think so too. But to me its still ugly, because I want it to be ugly. What would surprise/embarrass you more? Gettin beat by an 03+ Cobra, or gettin seriously spanked by my "cosmeticaly challenged" Bird?
one more thing, its not a Chevy. I am as much of a Chevy hater as anyone who drives a Ford. Oh wait I own Fords too!! lol. Damn I need to find those pics for you guys. Todays mission, dig through my crap and find pics of the 68 Stang and the 67 Cougar. I know I have them somewhere..... Mybe even the beat up Mach 1 I got... All it needs is all the sheetmetal, and an engine, and trans, and glass, and paint, and interior, and tires/rims, and well other than that its pretty cool...

See, Chevy and Ford CAN coexist in harmony! It's nice to see somebody who doesn't flame on Chevy just because they drive a Ford or vice versa. It's lame and childish. Chevy, Ford, Pontiac, well it's all American and it all kicks ass. Hell I own one of each. It's all about what's under the hood that counts, not what the badges say.
About Mysterious' "ugly" car...I would much rather drive that around than my Mustang! How anybody can call a classic car ugly (well with a few exceptions) is totally beyond me. True American style has been lost since the 60's. It's more fun to embarass somebody in a raggedy old beater than a clean new hot rod.

Don't get me wrong...I'm all about classics. I've been on the prowl for a '69 or '70 Charger lately. In fact, I really like the '77 & '78 T/A, not a big fan of the front end on the '79 like his is, but thats not why I said it was ugly.
His is fast, but the body is a little roughed up, and it's been painted with "House Of Krylon" a few too many times.
RJM02GTDrag, I was over exaggerating a little. Sometimes when people are 40-50 years old they are retired and sometimes have medical problems so you never know. All the people around here who drive vettes young or old are very nice. They'll pull over and let you look at their cars, sometimes. They smile and wave at you if you're looking. A guy that is 40 yrs old isn't "old". I was mearly trying to make a point, sorry if I came across wrong. Most of the men that drive vettes around here won't race, no, they have no interest, but you will find your occasional mid-life man out there with like a Z06 or a C5 that would do anything no matter where or how many cops, sometimes the older ones are the crazier ones!

Thanks for the clarification, me and my buddies are in our 40's and although race mostly at the track, will go with you on the street in a second. Not too many in their 40's or even 50's are retired though and there isnt anything I cant do a younger man can, yet. Maybe 60 or 70's might be more accurate but some of those guys will surpise you too.

I see it both ways. I drive a stang but would love to have a vette. I do believe its very humorous to see a stang whoop up on a vette but like he said, its all in good fun. Lets beat up on the ricers like God intended and quit fighting amongst our American selves!

Around here its more the war on ricers, its so funny when a fixed up ricers challenges my bf to a race.... man do they get their asses handed to them, but me.... hmmm it goes both ways, i'm stock and some imports round here have twin turbos, non honda motors, really fixed up, 13 second cars easy maybe 12s....
