well i had a good night a t the track. first  up was a little import, i have no clue what it was. i should have whopmed it, but since this is my very  first time in the cobra, i left the box in a cloud of smoke. i ended up beating him 13.57 to 15.51.  pathetic i know but its my first time. next up was a turbo z/28, this thing was trouble, he beat me 12.90 to 13.14. i got out of the box ok i just need to figure out  where it wants to be shifted. on stock tires, it seems to like a 3000 rpm launch while feathering the clutch. next up was my cousin (m3). in our first encounter, he crushed me, 12.83 to 14.49. ok i missed third. he said normally, thats that, but since its a new car, we could go again. so we lined back up about 12 minutes later, and we went. he got me. 12.69 to 12.93. yeah im upset about it but the butthole had drag radials. aw well. what are ya gonna do. but on an interesting note, he will not race me on normal street tires. hmm, wonder why... anyway, im gonna race him again when i have half the money into my car he has into his. and in my last race of the night, i got to go against a pure stock 02 camaro ss. i killed him. 12.80 to 13.37. all in all, i had fun. and thats what really matters

maaan.  You ran 12.9s stock?  Musta been perfect racing atmosphere.  My stangs best time so far is a 14.3.  I cant seem to get the rubbers to stick to save my life.  Ill admit it, I thought I was good at draggin, that was with autos in ol' muscle cars.  But sheesh, standards are a whole other world.

If I launch my 96 cobra at 3000 rpms with street tires I just fry them off. I can hardly lauch at 1500 without burning them all the way down the track.  And thats before I put my supercharger on.  You like have the best street tires ever.

not if you haze the clutch like i do. but if you drive it like me, you'll need a new clutch around 10,000 miles. i launch it at 3000 and haze the clutch till it hooks up, then im gone. i dont just dump it and stand on it. if you can find the right mixture of clutch and gas, you'll have a quick start that keeps the rubber on your tires.

spinnin' aint winnin'
