'06 GT Premium - haggled and drove off with a steal!
Been looking for 2 weeks. I found the car I wanted, and had 4 dealerships hassling over who would sell it less. Ended up going to the lot it was sitting on and worked with them.. I made a mistake in that the sticker read 29.9k but the dealer adds totaled to 36k. I know, that is dealer mark up.
Anyway, I had to tease to walk out once, came back in because they wanted to 'work me'. Another dealer called me while negotiating so I used it. Told my salesman if he wouldn't work with me, I was going to Hwy 59 South. Long story short, I walked out paying 26,999.00 total drive out (I had my own financing). My first offer was 26,500 drive out price.
Here's the 411:
Order Code 140-A
Dual Airbags
Rear Defroster
Anti-Lock
Traction Control
Power Seat (drivers)

Congrats.
Not to spoil your party but you may wanna talk to mac10chap.
Since you live in Houston you may wanna either throw away your alarm and get better one with pager, or sleep in that bad boy. Otherwise the title of your post might become irony at its best.

Two answers - one post.....
Dealership - Hwy 288 south of the beltway ( Southern Ford ) go late, like right before closing and know what you want when you walk in. Be prepared to leave if they don't won't to work with you. After 20 mins of negotation, the salesman gave up (kinda) and I dealt directly with the sales manager.
Color - Tungsten Grey.
I know my next ? is not in the right forum, but I am looking for the following upgrades after having the car one day:
Deeper Exhaust ( FlowMaster, Borla, etc) but I want an economical solution that won't cost a grand.
Cold Air Intake - such as K&N
Window Tints - Talked to a police officer and he said no darker than 25% on the sides and anything you want on the back (is this right)
RE: '06 GT Premium - haggled and drove off with a steal!
This thing better have a nice mouth to service me while driving if the dealer was asking 36k

Congrats on one fine ride! Great color!
Thank you - now to add Rally Sport Stripes - black of course
Sounds like a great deal! Couple quick questions please:
1.) Is your car a GT Deluxe, or is it a GT Premium? (look on window sticker)
2006 GT Coupe Premium
2.) Does it have leather?
Yes
3.) Is it Automatic transmission or 5 Speed?
5-Speed - anything else for this car?
4.) What are the options on the window sticker that have an extra cost from Ford?
Options on the sticker:
IUP 460.00
Anti-Theft 295.00
Wheel Locks 50.00
18" Prem Aluminum Wheels - 825.00
Shaker 1000 - 1295.00
5.) What is the total cost of the MSRP on the bottom of the factory Ford window sticker please?
MSRP - 29,965.00
I'm sure the dealer sticker was to get the fools. Bottom line, I was paying less than the factory sticker, and I did LOL

I guess I should be happy that I got in before the "Dealer Markup" craze hit. Picked up my GT Premium 5-Spd with all the options for $25,500.00 with an X-Plan. It was only a few short months later that they started adding the 3K to 5K markup.
I ordered mine in October and it finally arrived in February...
