Default First trip back to service dept..

Came out from work today and my car was dead as a could be...got that clickclickclick that says hey the battery is dead. Jumped it, went to dealer got there and noticed that the auto up on the windows wasnt working either.
After a 3 1/2 hour wait the advisor tells me that my radar detector is pulling too much amperage (sp) to leave it plugged in and on all the time. almost four times the amount that ford deams Ok. I tell him bullsh** because that same detector was plugged into my last car for 2 years and never hurt anything never being turned off and my minivan (Windstar by chance) has had another Escort plugged in for 3 years and sometimed has 2 cell phones plugged in overnight as well. with no problems. Its still on the factory battery as a matter of fact.
The windows just had to be reset because of the jumpstart he said...he told me to tow it next time to never jumpstart my car ever... what do you guys think?

I think you are suffering from what we fondly are calling "dead battery syndrome", or "they put a piece of crap battery in my new stang'". Join the club, and make them replace it, OR it will just keep happening. Ask the service guy if he's going to come personally and jump your battery the next time it goes dead? I bet not!

What about the jumpstart part..I had a car years ago that I had about a zillion $$ worth of stereo stuff in it ( it seemed loke it at the time LOL ) and I would never let anyone jump me when I had a problem because of the stuff i had put in it...why would he tell me never to jumpstart my new stang ??
