Hmm, it's been awhile but still no more updates on the All Wheel Drive, I'd be surprised if it ends up becoming reality.

im not even reading after the first page. they will not make an awd mustang!!! do you know how many people would be against it?! a lot, similar to the 4 door charger. die hards will not buy it. i bet you'll see an awd focus if anything. history tells the future, ford changes body styles every few years. do you think they would make an 07 gt 500 and change the body the next year on a brand new, thats from the ground up, car. you have to realize the money involved. that guy wouldn't be the first arsehole who thinks he knows secrets that don't ever come true that i've heard or met.

Man, AWD would be great for traction...but I would want to be able to turn off the front wheels at times if they ever did that...I mean, sometime I like throwing my tail out on turns and stuff....

Also, how the hell is the probe even COMPARABLE to Mustang? It is American Rice (Uncle Ben's) nad was manufactured by Mazda for Ford...nowhere close to being an all-American muscle car...the thought makes me shiver.

ford just wants to keep up with competition. if they want to do this they should just go back to the 5.0L and give it more horsepower with better weight distribution; along with all wheel drive :D in my opinion of course

That won't happen, they are making plans for the Focus to go against the Japan AWD. For instance the European focus is NOTHING like the Focus we have here. It's is a very impressive car. Not 500hp+ impressive but impressive compared to the SVT Focus we have here. The mustang is really Fords only performance car, they won't risk messing it up especially since the numbers sold already crush Subarus and Mitsubishi's. To add more interesting info, the mustang was going to be called a Probe or Cougar but they finally decided on the name Mustang.

Well you have until the new Challenger and Camaro come out. Ford will probably do something different aroundt that time. Hopefully they do it right this time. It would be to cool if they made the the new 3-valve GT's 4.6 bigger like a 5.8 liter or was supercharged from the factory.

awd would be lame. wtf would I do with awd if my front tires are a foot off the ground?

ok, I'm done dreaming now. awd is not as much fun a rwd.

my uncle is a mechanic and HVAC technician and always frequents ford dealerships to see whats new with ford and said that ford will be making a new 2dr sports car that i think will be FR but should compete with the viper. i cant remember the name but ford has already made and put on display a concept that looks similar to the Brock coupe. there might already be a thread started. i think it as called the "the next mustang" or something.

I heard from my dad's step-brother's 3rd cousin (twice removed) who works as a gas jocker right next to a ford dealership that has ties with Ford Racing, that they are only producing the current Mustang until 2007 and 1/2, then a new 5 cylinder turbo awd, with looks based on a retro'd Mustang II will be offered.

Aren't internet rumors fun?

They have stopped putting the indepent rear in the 07 Mustang Cobra because it was to costly, so I really don't see them going to awd.

i wouldn't buy an all wheel drive mustang.. but i would definitly buy a subaru...

i definitly want a subaru as my next car. i just like how it has a FUNCTIONAL hood scoop. and the mustang's hood scoop is fake... unless you get a shaker.

some of the jeeps you can go from 2wd to 4wd just by a shifter, if they could do that with RWD and AWD in the mustang that would be INTENSE!!!!! more traction = faster car = better 1/4 times stock = major vette killer = OWNAGE

some of you were talkin about bringing the focus rs over from europe, I just read that now their out doing even that with the new 2.5 liter turbocharged 220hp focus st.......why must we be punished, ford is (or supposed to be, lol) an american company, why dont we get any fo the good cars??? the japanese keep all there ash kickin cars to themselves, why cant we?? all we get is that stupid svt focus which was cool in its own right, but still, my grandmothers 1985 buick has more power thatn that thing.

heres an arcticle on the new st btw---> http://www.tuningnews.net/news/050216/ford-focus-st.php
