If they ever did make a awd Mustang I would hope it would be a limited edition. They would be too damn expensive for the normal gear banger salary I think.

I think making an AWD Focus with maybe a V6 or something might be cool if they could fit it in there.

The 2005 has a lot of Jaguar engineering in it. Course they're doing a lot of AWD stuff to compete with the Japanese models. I wouldn't be surprized.

Personally, I'd be all over an AWD V8 like a jock on steroids!

Yea, but as was said before a big part of the stang is the rear wheel drive V8

I think they should keep the Mustang RWD.But,if they come out with a Mustang GT-R ,if that was AWD it would be kick-ass.But they should leave the V6,GT,Cobra,Saleen,and any other type of Mustang they come out with RWD.

I would be willing to bet that if Ford did make an AWD Mustang, it would not be a V-8. That's just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth.
I would rather Ford come out with a killer AWD Focus to compete with the Subaru's, rather than change the Mustang to an AWD car. Leave the Mustang alone, and let it keep the V-8 rear drive only set-up. It's sold well for years, why mess with a good thing?

I agree completly!

Sure they'd dominate the street, but what about the strip? DR's would OWN them.

All wheel drive V8 & 300+ lb torque = a line of people at the dealer waiting for new transmissions.

the truest and wisest thing i've heard in a very long time. off the line power sucks balls at 80 mph. V8+~300+AWD= >20mpg. divide that by nearly $3.00 a gallon=stupid!

I dont think it would be a good idea AWD on mustangs, the mustangs r heavy anyways, with a AWD would be so heavy you would need a lot hp to be fast.

Yeah that would be a great idea but then think about how expensive the mustang would be. It would go from 25K to 40+K. Still it would be a great idea....

Doubt that Ford would try to make the Stang AWD, maybe come out with a turbo version that is or something like that.

Anywho, FWIW, people were saying that the RWD V8s are disappearing. I heard from a friend at Chrysler that they will definitely be coming out with the Charger next year. I suspect that will have a hemi and some cool styling.

Oh yeah, and he brought a Magnum for us to drive as well. I wasn't impressed.

I'm not a huge fan of the mangnum's look. I doubt you'd ever see a turbo stang, they'd do a focus before that any day.

I'm going to stick with my original thought and say they won't do it because they can't figure out how to not twist the trans out of it.

Don't look for an AWD Mustang any time in the future .. if were it experiment with AWD it would probably go in a low volume car. Ie. bring back the Cougar with a HI PO V6 or the 3v V8.
