I am sure that i will probably need to take my car back to a ford dealership, but if anyone has any advise, i may try to troubleshoot the problem myself.
i have a new 05 s286 with about 900 miles on it. a few days ago, my passenger door inside door release lever quit working. you can pull the lever but nothing happens. you have to roll the window down and reach out and use the exterior door handle. anything i should look for, or just take it in for warranty work?
thanks

You would need to take the door panel off to fix it. Why risk causing damage to the door panel etc. when you can get it fixed under warranty and the Ford dealer will be resposible? Its sounds like an easy fix but not worth the risk on a new car with a warranty.
Any Ford dealer should be able to fix it(its not a Saleen part that has failed, its a Ford part). It could be a number of things, broken part etc. I love to do things myself too. Its just not worth the risk of breaking a plastic part etc. when you have a warranty. Now, if you have taken 05/06 door panels off several times that would be different.
I would do it myself. No offense to the few dealer techs that are in here - but your car will undoubtedly get a 10-20 mile joyride from one (or a few) of the techs - for something that doesn't even require a test run [:@]
any advice on how to start taking the panel off? i have taken panels off before including my 2000 corvette and late 80's mustangs that i no longer own. i'm sure i could figure it out, but it won't hurt to be given a few pointers before i dive in.

If it were me, I would do a search in the 2005/6 section as I'm pretty sure this has been posted before. If that fails (or you're impatient) then start a post in that section asking for a how-to guide on removing the door panel. Someone in here is bound to have the info for you I'm sure once inside you will find the piece that has jarred loose or broken.
