Since I got my V6 on Saturday I have 23 posted on my info read out.....prlly 70/30 split on primarily highways.

On a second notee, anyone here got a gauge on how accurate that info read out is? This is my first car with this feature and I have heard they are generous in stating your mpg compared to actual.

i get 11L / per 100 km... (thats how much you burn... the lower hte number the better, in canada)

i got around 17. then i put on the gt duals and now i get almost 20!!!!! sweet!!

im not a lead foot! im a great driver never too fast! (with one exception when i had to just test it out but the limiter stopped me at 113 or so) i dont knwo i bought the salvaged from this dude who mods mustangs for a living but i dont think he did much to it because he never works on v6's it was for his girlfriend but she broke up with him so he sold it

maybe he did some crazy mod? i dont htink so... could there be aproblem with my car..

I get about 19 City and 24-29 Hwy, depending on lead foot passing, with the 17" wheels on. With the 16" Stock wheels my best was 32.2 Hwy. I have Fred @ Evolutions 93 Octane tune in now, and although I have worse lead foot now (it is to much fun) I still get 19-20 City and I just got 24.7 on a 200 miles trip, with the 1st 1/4 tank City driving. Trip meter said 282.4 and I still had about 1/8 tank or so

Personally when I first got my stang my gas milage was low. which I think most everyone will agree with. That doesnt neccesarly mean that you are speading either it just means that you get up to the speed limit quickly. So if you are getting on it when you take off that is definitely your problem. I know that is what kills my fuel economy not speeding

haha yeha thaqt MIGHT be my problem i just drove down to subway and back and tried to get to the speedlimit very slowly and like use the break very little but my avereage was only 17 which is about the same as 16 just plus one :) hehe OH and sonicblue it was a great deal but it had a front end accedent previously but the dude fixed it (who better to fix your mustang then a guy who mods and works on mustangs for a living) but HELL of a deal and great first car :):):):):):))

for now you probably want to just drive...um..."slowly", if you really tone it down you can get these cars to around 20 in even city/traffic/suburbs driving

i would be SO happy if i could squeeze 20 out of it i tried going REALLY slow and everyhign again today i got as high as 18 which isnt that bad i guess

yeah, if you do mostly city driving these get kinda crappy mileage. I get 16mpg going 2 miles to and from work, with about 10 stoplights. It sucks, but what ya gonna do, I gotta drive my pony!

I get about 17... and I drive backcountry mountain roads (20 mi off them)... lots of twistys..

I only averaged 22 on the highway this weekend. Can you blame me? IT WAS A STRAIGHT ROAD FOR 320 MILES!!!!!

I get an average of like 17mpg, i live like in a suburban neighborhood wit like 5 lights to school. on occasion i will have to admit that i open her up.


oh and My baby just turned 1000miles today. :) they grow up so fast lol, i've only had her a month.

In suburban driving, about half of that being during rush hour (stop-and-go traffic for 11 miles), I get about 17-18 regularly but I was happy to get 20 on my last tank. I got 24 highway on a road trip some time back. I didn't get 20 mpg on my last tank because of anything I did though, all the schools were on spring break, so there wasn't as much traffic and I didn't have to stop for school buses.

I do all city driving and I'm averaging about 17.5-18mpg. And thats in stop and go rush hour traffic.

i am getting 14 also. it was actually 13 but since putting the exhaust and K&N filter on..i have noticed it has gone up. I only drive 8 miles round trip to work and it is city driving. Highway thought I get about 20 mpg. Can't complain though..I had a 97 Ford Expedition and only got 8-9 mpg and had to fill up every 5 days or so. I can go 2 1/2 weeks on a tank now.

I know a lot of it depends on driving habits but I have been getting anywhere from 15-20 mpg. Hand calcs. I don't drive that conservative and I have the 4.6 with manual. I thought I was getting low mileage till I read some of your posts. I dunno....:eek:

You should be getting better milage than that. Put some fuel injector cleaner in your next tank and see if that helps any. You might also want to try the K&N drop-in if you don't have a CAI. They cost about $55, but i just got one two weeks ago and I'm getting 2 to 3 mpg better than I was. My wife and I drove from Mississippi to San Antonio last weekend and got 27mpg on the interstate @ 75mph average. I really think you should at least be getting 18 - 20 mpg

Its stuff you pour in your gas tank that cleans all of your internal fuel system. Theres tons of different brands, just go to auto zone or wal-mart or any place like that.

I get anywhere from 21-25, and that's at 6400ft, with a supercharger, driving like an @55 25% of the time. ;)

It's holding up great! It's an absolute blast to drive. GTs beware... Well, unless your supercharged/turbocharged, that is! ;)

I still have a minor tune issue that RPM Outlet is working on, but I got a free MAFia out of the deal, so I'm not complaining!

I paid $3809 for the 100% complete Stage II kit from RPM Outlet. They show $4139 on their page, but you may be able to knock it down a bit like I did (military discount).

The kit comes with:

- ProCharger supercharger @ 9 psi
- Stage II intercooler
- All necessary piping and mounting hardware
- Enough blower oil for 4 changes
- 42lb injectors
- NGK V-power spark plugs
- Diablo Predator tuner w/unlimited tune support (in case you change something down the road)

The kit has it's own intake, so don't worry about that. You asked about the programmer, I love it. Don't let anyone tell you either the SCT or the Diablo is better than the other. They both edit the same things. The SCT has the edge with tune availability. They have an awesome dealer network with a tune bank they can pull from. The Diablo is awesome because of the sheer amount of end-user customization. You can edit just about anything in your tune.

Yashar, it sounds like you're doing lots of short trips on suburban, mountainous roads. 16-18 mpg is not particularly bad when there is lots of accelerating and decelerating involved. If you're maintaining a constant speed, slower is not necessarily better.

I get 15-20 around town (depending on my mood;)), but on my most recent highway trip I did 264 miles on 8.4 gallons, which is a little over 31 mpg. I kept a constant speed between 65-70, for the most part. If I stay around 55-60 I can get even better.

I have a manual so I try to stay in 5th on the highway, except on downhills when I drop into neutral. I'm also running Bamachips 93 octane torque tune; I think the higher octane fuel helps a little as well.

ill try and get a high octane tune, as for the fifth gear cruise how many gears to manuals actually even have is it like 4 with one overdrive or whatever? i dont know can anyone tell me? and if it is ... can i get a fifth gear?
