04 GT vs. 05/06 Mazda 6

Hello everyone. A friend of mine just bought an 05 or 06 Mazda 6 5-speed with the 2.3L I4 engine and he wants to race already. He agrees that my car will win but it is by how much that is in question. He thinks the nose of his car will still be even with a part of my car, which I can't believe will happen. What do you guys think? My car is an 04 GT auto with some Flowmasters. Thanks in advance.

You should beat him by a 3 buses.

I think you will beat him, thats if this is just the 2.3 4 banger, and not the Mazdaspeed 6. If his is just the 4 banger with like 160hp, than I think you can take him by about 5 or 6 cars. They run mid 15's in the 1/4.

Yeah I try to tell him that it will be at least by 2-3 lengths but he doesn't buy it. I guess I'm just gonna have to show him.

Is it the 06 or 05? If its the 06, does it have the big rims, 18's I think, not sure, but if so than its a turbocharged 2.3 with 274hp.

Must be an 05 then b/c it for sure has the 2.3L I4. I just know its newer than mine. And I have driven in it, so I know it doesn't have 274 hp. Doesn't make a difference but it is also a 5-door (hatch).

If you've driven it than you would know if it had the turbo. It can still be an 06, just the regular Mazda 6, not the Mazdaspeed 6. You should beat it by about 5 or 6 cars depending on if hes auto, or manual and if he can drive.
