Default Ebay Engines!

Wondered if anybody has seen the motors on Ebay built by a nascar mechanic. They have ford and Chevy and they look BADD! They come with forged rods and crank and are CHEAP!!!! Are they that good or not worth buying?

well my first tip off would be 'Cheap' You can have quality and reliability but not quality reliability AND cheap.

True. I think they come with a warranty which would give them some sort of credibility! I guess you would have to see it and look at the description. Just go to ebay and type nascar in and select highest price first. They range from 3-7K

i don't think iwould buy a ready to run engine off of ebay a core engine i wouldn't have a problem with but remember these motors are "built buy nascar mechanics" that could mean any thing and nothing just because they have the guy that sets up the suspention, assembling engins in the off season doesn't make it a good engine. if they put a name on it like roush or petty racing then maybe i would buy it but just a no name "nascar mech" i wouldn't trust.

The venders often take parts here and there and it's a hassle to hunt down/ buy those parts again.

From what I see the 347 makes 400 HP and you can "witness" your engine being dynoed and then take it home. It comes with forged crank, rods, and pistons. I see on some motors where some parts are reconditioned items. for $2,900 you couldnt build a 400HP motor. Heck good heads(AFR) for a mustang run half of that! Its worth a shot to try for a street motor. The poeple (T&L Engines?) have all positve feedback 100% and have over 80 transactions. I think Im going to get one. Its right up in charlotte and can save the shipping by going to pick it up. My cousin is a Chevy Man (Lord help him) and I think he might get the 383. We both can ride together and save an ass on shipping and bring home two 400HP/450HP motors! We'll See!
