and didnt have a very good day. went to Dinwitty, Va motorsports park. satruday was a good day but i didnt get to race. alot of cars pulling some good times. but yesterday the track was bad, the guys running it said there was alot of oil and antifreeze and water etc...that's why no one was getting any good times. my best was a 15.1 @ 93, i got an ok start, but i missed 4th. this guy in a brand new SS couldnt grip at all, i didnt see him run better than 15.8. yesterday another guy with a stock one ran 13's consistently. the only cars doing well were the AWD cars. a GSX and a WRX. both running 11's. the lancer EVO out there kept racing a supra TT, but neither could break into 12's. so s**tty track day, but i got to be in a nice little burnout competition, unfortunately it was too much, i dropped my clutch. I think it was because my pressure plate was already bad, and it was just too much. i shouldnt have done it, but it was this big event with about 20 cars burning out all at once. my car was right in front of the stands and all the cameras. drop jaw magazine was out there, as well as the guiness book of world records, wich is what they were trying to get into. aparantly we set a new burnout record. so now im driving the little honda around. anyone else raqce this weekend?

I hope to go out to our 1/8 mile track friday for some test and tune. I want some low 7's out of the thing. Heres a hint, its not a mustang, but they are fun to build too.

I live near d'wittie..that track hooks real well first 200mph in a pro stock...just a thought be more worried about your 60foot time then the big number at first 15.1 is not a good time but what mods do you have and what tires did you use...I'll help you get to the 13's but I need specs

im running on street tires, BFG 275/40/ZR17 in the rear and 245 in the front. i know my car can run high 13's... i just need some practice, some good track conditions, and no missed shifts.  my 60' time was killing me, slipping and sliding all over the track. all the RWD guys were having trouble. some people there even told me that it's not a very good track period.

Yeah 79 they had Formula's, ever since 1970. WS6 came out in 78, in 79 it included rear disc brakes. Wasnt Ram Air like the new ones.  I want a GN like Jeep has on his sig..  Also gonna build a 79-92 Stang with either one of my Clevelands or a 347 with AFR heads. Should be alot of fun.

The turbo T/A's have the same motor as the GN.

But the gearing is much different. Although the T/A hits 60 SLIGHTLY faster, it gets blown outta the water in the 1/4 mile.

the '89 TA had the Buick V6 in it. The 80-81 Turbo cars had the 301. 301's are some of the slowest slugs you will ever find. even with a turbo on them. The best thing about a 301 car is you can drop a 455 or 400 in there using a set of headers and an engine hoist. You need new headers or manifolds  but other than that, EVERYTHING will swap over, including the mounts trans wiring and they still handle good because they were built with those engines too.

301 Pontiacs had a smaller block than the rest of Pontiac engines. it was a piece of crap. Weak rods, weak block and weak heads. Nothing is good about them except for being an awesome paperweight.

Buicks on the other hand are pretty impressive engines. Not unlike 400 and 455 Pontiacs.
