Hey guys I am trying to organize byweekly or montly meetings to check out our cars and have breakfast or dinner. So far I have talk to 05HOTROD and he would like to do the same... we just have to find the place. Let me know your ideas to start organizing for this.

Yeah that sounds good, let me know when you get something going. Maybe weekly meetings and then cruises on say Pacific coast highway or hanging. Definitely a good idea.

There are a LOT of regular gatherings going on in and around L.A., we may be adding another event but diluting the herd so to speak.

Do you guys also know about the Mustang Cafe night at Ricky and Ronnies that the BCMC (Beach Cities Mustang Club), has on the third Wed. of the month? A lot of Mustangs show up obviously, some show quality some DD's and some WIP, new and old. There is a raffle a vendor booth and good food at reasonable prices with lots of cars to look at and people to mingle and talk to. Last summer one of the OverHauling Mustangs showed up one night with the whole family in the car! It was the '66 2+2 Foose did, pretty nice car actually. I've only managed to get to two of these before the rain came to SoCal. and messed up the party. They were a lot of fun and I met a lot of good people there.

Wow wish I could have gone guys.

I was thinking that since we live in Cali. it would be cool if we could all go out riding in the mountains or in the desert or even PCH like once every one or two month. What do you guys think?

Yeah, i wish i could have come as well, but unfortunately could not make it this sunday. But i definitely want to join the next meet. Though, maybe we should think about meeting around PCH, canyons and cruising would be really cool there. Anywhere is ok though. We should figure out the next meet early so we can clear up our schedules for it.

I'm in Chino Hills and would love to come and check out everyone's rides. Lets try to plan a little furter in advance so I can clear my schedule.

I started the Supercharger install so that's why I didn't make it. :)

it was a good excuse to do something besides sleep til 2pm at the very least! i got to check out another saleen blown gt, as well as my first upclose encounter with a kenne bell blown gt (silverpoison). i also got to see side-by-side-by-side comparisons between the stock shifter, the saleen shifter mod, and the hurst shifter. DAMN the hurst felt good...and now its on its way! saleen felt two fold bette than stock tho...never realized how much slop there was!

i believe we will do a comprehensive side by side video/audio comparison between stock exhaust/borla/slp/magnaflow/??, as well as possibly before/after clip for pypes o/r h-pipe, which i believe silverpoison is putting on soon?

It was a very good turnout for such a short notice. I'm glad some of you were able to experience some of the mods other people did to their mustangs to help you choose what route to go with. That's exactly what these meetings are for, to meet other stang owners and to trouble shoot what works and what does not. I need people to chime in and decide if you want to keep it at this location (arcadia) or have it somewhere else. Next time we meet up here (if everyone agrees) we can arrange lunch with a cruise down to the beach or have lunch next door to starbucks at BJ'S PIZZAERIA.
The next meet will be most likely at the end of april or beginning of may. Thanks to all that showed up on such a short notice, I really had a great time- Carlos

its a drive for me to get there, from la habra but not too bad. and its a nice starbucks and neighborhood. imo stay.
i like the sun meet, i usually work on sat.
cruises are good, id like to see many into the mtns and maybe lunch at wrightwood or further, hwy 1? when the ice clears.
beach areas are ok but kinda crowed, imo.
nice group of folks, lets do it again in 2 or 4 weeks, same set up. and a cruise the next meet.

Hey guys sorry I couldn't make it but I got home late the previous night woke up too late. The time change also didn't help out. The pictures show that you guys had a great time. I wish I could have been there. I agree that the next meet should be planned in advance so that we can have a greater turn out. I do have a question for the Silver GT with the half painted hood(like Steeda's), where did you get it done man because it looks sweet. I have a torch red and I would love to paint mine black to match with the fog light grille. I would also think that the V-6's are welcome?

I think same place is good but I think after 9am would be better. All of us riding on the streets or in the freeway would really be bad ass. We would surely turn heads and cause some intimidation(I Love It).

Hi 05,

I like this plan best as I can only waste one day a week playing with cars and I plan to make the 4/22 run from Malibu/PCH to the boat with the big herd. I like running the canyons in Malibu and Mullholland Hyw best but the Angeles Crest is a blast when dry, ice and rock free. You know a nice ride is up to Wrightwood for lunch, we should consider that as a spring or summer run. Count me in for the 30th at Starbucks Arcadia.

Well I am interested in Joining the fun, my car is kinda slow all it has is a magic wand under the hood but hey you can't win em all. The pedals are pretty shinny and not to hard to pedal either with those special 3.55 gears in the back. Some day maybe my daddy will let me have a real mustang or heaven forbid let me borrow his new vette... but for now can I just come to the meet and admire those fine steeds?

I think the time will be 0930 tentatively. Other than that, its set for apr30 at starbucks, and afterwards maybe we will head out canyon driving or cruising pch etc.

okay, don't forget the starbucks meet on huntington drive, plenty of parking and just off the 210 just west of the 605 fwy.
as far as the mountain cruising, we will play it by ear at this meet to find out how many people are interested in cruising the canyons.

Why doesn't everybody just agree to an 11:45 am meeting on Sudays somewhere in mid Los Angeles, griffith park has a ton of beautiful parking lot space under the old zoo sight, and there is a complete park rec kids play center right there for the other family members, and plenty of room in the aging parking lot. Easy to Bring picnic lunches, play, and is a nice setting for the photograghing of cars. Right off the 5 freeway, los Feliz area, dead center to the LA basin. Anybody???? Erik

Ah yes, the JDM toon. Jay in New Jersey has been very helpful. I am still deciding on that myself. I still feel any tune done for California needs to be played with, and adjusted by a Dyno Shop on a Dyno by a qualified cailfornia tuner. With all the claims of safe rear wheel horsies with a standard 39injectors, pullies, and air boxchange out, you get mixed answers for safe 91% octane limits. JDM says 10.5 lbs 500@flywheel 450rearwheel HP is max. GTR High Performance says not to go past 8.5psi @425 rearwheel to keep the engine a long time. Earls Automotive says they install the JDM tunes, but change their opinion of the safety zone every time I call, and say they don't need to Dyno as they tune. Adam at ST Motorsports has done many, and feels the limit also is 450rwhp @ 9psi. You tell me friends. Do you get greedy like drag guys and blow an engine ? Which many do. Are you going to pass smog? If not, do you have to change out your parts for a week every two years like JDM says might be the case to the Saleen tune default? Saleen is in a month from releasing their own upraded flash tunes, which people might laugh at, except there claims seem correct for California. Saleen is planning an 8psi tune which they say is safe, it will pass smog, and will add 50 hp to the present 435 Flywheel 425 trk they are set at presently as of Nov.05' So the total would be 485hp flywheel, which because of Saleens superior torque, puts the rear wheel at about 425 rwhp and 410 rwtorque, passing smog, and hopefully not being such a lean mixture as to overheat and destroy our pistons. I guess all this really isn't that much to consider, Why can't I just make up my mind. Erik

Hi Carlos,

I know this is your gig but this is not a bad idea that StangSkeleton has brought up. Can we say second and fourth Sundays at 0900HRS at the same old place (or the old same place if you are a Firesign Theater fan), and make it done. This makes the whole snappy banter in this thread one less that we would have to follow to know the time and date and it would get us a more reliable meeting schedule. People seem to be O.K. with Sundays at 0900HRS for the most part except for the church goers (not that there's anything wrong with it!), most people get there just fine. Maybe the church going crowd can do make up the time with the man upstairs by going to Wedensday night bible study sessions.

Hey, I just got another generous bug up my ... , anybody got suspension they want to install? Let's do it in my garage! I have shop air, floor jacks, jack stands and enough tools to get the job done in a reasonable time. Carlos you going to go first?

I got a lot of sun today, since I went straight to the zoo with my family, and roasted some more. It was great meeting everyone, and all this info has to sink in. Eduardo, I'll check my parts to confirm all the gear, I have the complete instruction sheet with the parts listed. I will e-mail you a scan of the sheet if you wish. The kit came with two eibach front dust boots that replaced the oe ones, but the rest is your original equipment reused with the new springs.I'm hoping Saleen included them in my parts box, or with the springs themselves. I kept absolutely everything they returned to me after the supercharger install, and their suspension install. I'll let you know, since I have all my oe stuff wrapped in plastic like a body under my house. Thanks again everybody, Erik

The meet was great. It was great to get together and see everones cars and all the goodies on them. Looking forward to the next meet, and by then we will hopefully have a set location and schedule (cruise, dyno day, brunch, etc).

Yea the meet was fun today. Everyones mustang was awesome to see. Maybe next time we can go canyon running or something. Oh yea and next time ill wash my car :D But yea for sure we gotta meet up next time.

Good news. Steeda is releasing their rear lower control arm relocation brackets next month. To change to the correct angle doesn't require adjutable lower control arms, or lengthening. So like myself and others, the non-adjustable arms can be angled properly to the brackets for optimum hp transfer. Erik

Yes sir. I talked to Gus today and asked him directly if I would have to replace and sell my non-adjustable billitt lower rear control arms and get the adjustable. He said no. The adjustable is for other applications. The angle of the standard length control arm will place right where it needs to into the relocation bracket for the proper down angle for standard lowerings. The info will be specific as always on their websight in about a month I giuess. I am really trying to buy things just one time, and it seems like going through a mine field, every time you think you move forward, you need something else. Always comprimises of some kind. This was good to hear. Erik

So when are we scheduling the next meet? remember that we need to do this in advance so that everyone can have a chance to plan ahead. The turn out on 4/30 was a very good one and hopefully we can continue to grow. Maybe we can notify other 05-06 GT owners from other forums or websites about our plans. I also think that we need to do a cruise somewhere because its something that will turn heads(hey if sport bikers can do it, so can we).

I think thats a good idea dreem. I think if we are just going to have a meet and hang out etc, the arcadia location is pretty good, but if we want to cruise and get brunch then we might want to change the location. Maybe, santa monica or malibu. That would definitely be great to have 15+ stang cruising along the pacific ocean. There are also some really good brunch places (and great canyons). So thats an idea. Whoever has any suggestions for alt locations let us know. Also i think second sunday of may would be good, so the 14th.

YOU NEED TO LOOSEN UP THE BOTTOM BOLT ABOUT 1 TO 2 TURNS OUT. IT SHOULD LOOSEN UP AFTER A FEW 100 MILES, MINE DID.

I think Marina Del Rey to Malibu and then back to the 101 through a canyon would be a great idea. Thats my vote ;) but I'm down for whatever we decide on. The exposure on PCH would be great, and what can beat cruising next to the ocean?

I have been trying to organize something like this for a long long time now... i always posted about having stang meets in LA but no one seemed to be from This freakin town on these forums( this was 1yr ago).

Now i see this successful growing mustang meets near ME!!!! WOOOOHOOOO!!

canyons would be a bit much for a large group. that is better with 2-5 cars imo. pch exposure, and filling up a parking lot at a nice restaraunt visible from the main road would be awesome. if we do that, i guarantee other drivers coming by will stop and ask and the meet will grow. then we can accomplish track days and dyno days and such with much more ease.

People I know like RET in Downey especially for Terminators and S197's with blowers though he also is a good N/A tuner by all accounts. S.T. Motorsports is a bit of a drive but by all accounts also an excellent tuner as is PowerTrain Dynamics in Huntington Beach and Van Gordon and Brown. WHATEVER you do DO NOT go to Shawn Ellis AKA SoCal Diablo no matter what! This guy is a crook, plain and simple and once he has your money he's done talking to you period. It is VERY unfortunate that he is working out of Superior Automotive's shop because he is making a LOT of bad will for Superior Automotive because people that Shaw rips off think he worls for Superior, he doesn't he rents the dyno by the hour! Whatever you do DO NOT go to Shawn Ellis/"SoCal Diablo for a dyno tune.

Relax - I wasn't bagging on the meetings. The first one I was in Pennsylvania and the last one I was in Vegas or I would have gone to both. This one coming up I'm doing a father daughter camping thing with my daughter's school. If I wasn't always busy on the dates so far, I would have been at every single one of them!! I think it's great and hope to have one fall on a day I can make it. I just thought it would be REALLY cool for the dyno day for all of us. Adam goes all out on these days and there's a big barbecue, lots of beer, and kids playing games and it's a really good time for all.

Hey, ok put me down for this. but i do have to say that if we are going to cruise, i think PCH would be great and thus the meet should be somewhere around the PCH area (malibu, santa monica, etc).Because if we start in arcadia it would take a while to get out to PCH, by which time we would have cruised already on the way there. Also canyons would be a bit difficult with over 7 cars. PCH is wide, great exposure, great location, and is a hot cruise highway for sports cars. The svt meet did something like this in april in malibu. Anyway, we'll figure something out.

ok guys, for those of you that want a cruise to the beach, silverPOISON and I will set something up for junes meet for sure.
as for this weekend, the plan is to meet @our normal meeting place (0900hrs) and leave @ 0930 for a mini cruise up the mountains near by.
we will take the 210East from starbucks to a the azuza exit and then drive north through the streets for approximately 3 miles. then we will drive up the winding road for approximately 11 miles. we will return to the boat (burger joint with a big p-lot), which is near starbucks in ARCADIA for burgers.

05HOTROD and I, start organizing a mustang meet in arcadia, we have 17 cars on the last one (2nd meet).We decided to do a mustang cruise on the 21st the direction for the cruise are

I'm leaving tonight for a father/daughter camping trip in san diego with my church + my car has no engine but I would love to go. Are ANY of you guys going to come to the dyno day at ST Motorsports on June 3rd?????

Hey guys I will try to go on Sunday but i'm not 100% sure. I have been working on installing my sound system and my car looks terrible inside due to all the wires and misc. pieces. If I finish my installation I will be there. 2 days working on it and I'm still not finished. Man the internet is wonderful... I am absolutely clueless in installation of speakers and stereos but I have found everything I needed online. I am saving myself a few hundred bucks on labor.
I am installing a Clarion CD player, Scosche custom built 12" subwoofer box with woofer, 2 Kickers 8" woofers, Infinity Kappas 6X8 rear speakers, MB Quart front 6X8 component speakers, Alpine V12 4ch Amp, 2 Rockford Fosgate 2ch amps, Kenwood EQ, Clarion 12 CD changer and all monster cable wiring.

I'm not going to be able to make it:( We just had our shifts changed at work and I'm stuck with this Sunday, and I tried to get it off with no luck. I wanted to show of my new stance that F1Fan (Chip) helped me out with. He was nice enough to take his day off to install my Eibach Pro Kit Springs, Tokicos, and adj. panhard bar and brace. WOW!!!! Looks awesome and drives better. Once I got more familiar with it I could really feel the difference. Thanks again Chip and I'm really sorry I can't make it, but I'll be there next time.

I hate the one to give the bad news. But...... Was looking at the forecast and it said it was going to rain! We still having the meet rain or shine right??? But yea those forecasts are usually wrong. I hope i didnt jinx it. :(

Whats up fellas. Newbie to this forum. Looks like I have been missing out on this great meet you guys have going on. Hope it continues...I would sure like to come out and join on future meets.

That looks like fun. Its good it wasnt raining down there. I think the next one should be on PCH. What do u guys think? silverpoison, 05hotrod? The wether should be awesome by then as well.

WHO IS COMING TO DYNO DAY AT S.T. ON JUNE 3RD??

Im there for the dyno meet. I was just planning on dynoing my car too. :) Who else is going?

Is anyone planning to attend the v6 meet on July 2nd this year. From what I read it is an annual meet for all v6 stangs. The meeting is in Elysian Park(Dodger Stadium). Maybe some of you guys would like to go. They will have a car show, free food, and raffles. If you want more info you can go here www.v6mustangmeet.com.

If we can get enough of the 2005-2006 v8's maybe we can cruise there together and show some unity.

I'm really sorry that I missed the meet this past weekend. It seems like you guys had a lot of fun.:(

Let's make it soon! How about going to Mulholland Highway for a longer cruise out to a PCH location restaurant for lunch before the crowds get there? Then we could head down PCH to Santa Monica and I10 Freeway and off to where ever you call home. We would have to leave Starbucks earlier to get out to the canyon in time to beat the lunch crowd rush on PCH. I know Mulholland Highway pretty well I just need to find a good spot to park a bunch of cars and have a decent meal together. What do you think?

Yeah, that sounds good. Mulholland is a good idea F1FAN. Maybe from mulholland to malibu cyn s through to PCH. How about a starbucks from somewhere off the 101 freeway like topanga cyn or mulholland and then cruising down to PCH and maybe lunch there and cruise on PCH. Lets do it.

So guys, whats the vote, when are we meeting?

So what are we doing this weekend? Im up for either one. If the weather is nice like this i would rather do a PCH cruise. so pch or st motorsports? Silverpoison or 05hotrod? anybody?

our meetings are going to be the 3rd sunday of the month for now on. there is no organized ride to st motorsports, but most of us will be heading over there. june 18 will be a cruise to pch, from what meeting point, I don't know yet. It's probably going to be something close to the svtperformance cruise. they took the 10fwy west until it ended up in malibu and then stopped in a large p-lot near some restaurants. After a quick brunch or lunch, we will then head down pch. how does this sound so far???
