Okay SOHC Bob, here's the link to a clip of my Flowmaster mufflers. It's best to listen to the clip on a good sound system with a subwoofer. To compensate for the low end loss in the audio codec, crank up the bass a little bit too so you can feel the rumble. ;-)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIzfEep8d3E

I like them better because they are a bit quieter, especially inside and there is no aggrivating drone to hurt my ears like it was with the Street Pro's and Violators.
Enjoy!

hey wolfey2k, are those the AT's Im assuming so bc of the 4 inch rolled stainless steel...just wondering for personal interest...im considering the ATs
would you reccomend them? any complaints?

Yes, I'd recomend them. No complaints. Nice cans!

Hey Wolfey,

Are all these mufflers, AT, MF, etc, etc. all the same size?

If I get MF straight throughs and don't like em can I just get some ATs or GT take outs?

I do 3 hrs a day driving at least... I'm not gonna have to cut pipes to change cans am I?

Thanks
SOHC

Yes, all axleback's for the S197 stangs are basically the same with respect to general fit and fittings.
You can change cans to your hearts content ;-). Certainly the easiest can changes I've ever been privelaged to make.
Have fun!

Has anyone tried to put the "boom tube" axelbacks on their V6? How do they look in person?

Here's my clips. I have a basic single GT swap. Sounds good to me. I have the other muffler, just not sure if I want to cut into the stock rear bumper or get a GT rear bumper to run it.
First clip is a start up and rev, second is an interior clip with the windows down driving by a building with huge mirrored windows.

STREET PROS

I liked the Flowmasters on Wolfey's, but for the price I went with the Pypes True Duals with "X" pipe and Street Pros.

Awesome!

This baby SNARLS under throttle now! Already gaining support from the local gearheads. Even scared the Hell out of a riced up Acura. Coasted along side and opened up the throttle! He swerved to the right about 6 feet! Maybe he was sleeping?

I swear I got more than 10 HP out of these! On the highway she positively flys!

http://media.putfile.com/0-60-2006-Mustang-V6-331-gears--Pypes-True-Dual-w--X--and-Street-Pro-Mufflers

Saturday, I'll get her all bathed and do some sound readings and stills/video of revs.

I'll try to get the rumble on the highway tomorrow, todays vids weren't that great (except for one I can't show).

I'll tell you what, she sounds angry at 4500RPM in 4th!! The tone of the mufflers change suddenly to really DEEP tone.

Oh, and where I usually average 28.4 MPG going to work... I got 29.4 MPG today!! Trust me, I wasn't babying it either!

This is what they look like:

Here's a quick vid of my new Pypes True Duals with "X" pipe & Street Pros.

http://media.putfile.com/SOHCman---2006-Mustang-V6-Pypes-True-Duals-X-Pipe-and-Street-Pros

In neutral at fast idle they are 87dB, they then drop a bit when engine is fully warmed up).

Doing 2000-4000 rev they peak at 97dB (see below for interesting chart)

From: http://www.astro.northwestern.edu/labs/m100/logs.html

Noisest spot at Niagara Falls: 85 dB

Jackhammer (at 1 m): 90 dB

So, at idle, My V6 is louder than Niagra Falls!

Love it!

For you those of you interesting in "drone", it's not bad to me.

3. My favorite part of duals, waking up the countryside!
http://media.putfile.com/SOHCman---Uphill-Acceleration-Steep-Grade---V6-with-Pypes-Exhaust

Even my wife agrees, they are louder than the duals on my old 429CJ.

SOHC

PS: Went cruising through VT and NH today and got lots of comments from bystanders. Including "nice car" and "That's MY car!" even saw kids running around their house to get a view of flying by. Too cool!
Even the NH State Police blew a U-Turn and followed me for a few miles! Wasn't that considerate of him, a police ESCORT through town!

Got the Flowmaster AT installed today -- quite a bit different sound, especially with the C&L.  I have to take a long drive tomorrow so we'll see how it is at highway speed for 2 hours.
I discovered that my new digital camera will take video with sound, so here is a clip:
I can't get the video to play directly here so follow the link I guess

Could someone please post a quality sound clip of their single axel back borla/ford racing exhaust, my neighbor currently has a single Flowmaster AT which sounds great but i am still interested in hearing what the borla/ford racing muffler sounds like, the only clips I could find were either of duals, garbled, or had dead links, so if anyone could do me a favor of getting a new clip or finding one it would be appreciated. I am torn between the two....and would like to put in an order for one of them by monday. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thnx.

Well I decided to go with the single Borla axel back. I think it sounds great, very deep tones throughout the rpm spectrum, no tinking, clanking or tin can sounds, very smooth and deep.....exactly what I wanted. I took this video around only after it was running for about 15 mins. After  the 50mi. I drove it today it already sounds better IMO. I'll post more videos after it's more broken in.
