Hey everyone, first time posting, hope someone can help with a wiring ?...

I've got an existing 4-channel amp (RMS = 70w x4 @ 4 ohms, RMS = 100w x4 @ 2 ohms) Bridgable at 4ohms.
Also have two(2) DVC 4 ohm 10's (RMS= 300w , 600w max : assuming 150w RMS for each coil)

The amp is a temp. until I can get a better one but I want to maximize the use I what I've got to work with. I'm after sound quality more so than big bass.

Can I wire each 4ohm voice coil to its on channel on the amp? Channels 1 and 2 would goto one woofer and 3 and 4 to the other.
I would be pushing 70w to each coil for a total of 140w to each speaker. I would think as long as the RMS of both channels does not exceed the RMS of the speakers voice coil, I should be OK.

Is my thinking correct? I'm open to other wiring options provided they use the above equipment. Not gonna buy anything new just yet.

Thanks for the help,

Steve

no can not do that, both coils need to receive the same signal from the amplifier
and if you bridge the amplifier they will see 2 ohms mono and bye bye amplifier

Supra88,

I'm using two of the channels now by having each speaker wired to 2 ohms...gives me 100w per speaker. I think that's what you're suggesting.
I was hoping to make use of the other two channels until I can get a better amp. Thanks for the reply.
