Default V6 or V8?

Hi. i'm plaining to sell my Yamaha r1 and buy a mustang but i don't know if i should get a V6 or V8. i think if i go from a bike that will go 170mph w/o a problem to a V6 it won't have enough power but at the same time i don't want to go from 40mpg to what ever a V8 gets. what kind of gas mi does a V6 get an what does a V8 get? i do tend to lead foot a lot. is there a big power diferance between to two? oh and i'm plaining to get a 5spd. what are the top speeds of both? thanks

The fuel economy of the V6 isn't high enough to make me want one.Get the V8!!!Top speed with a stock 04 GT (mine) is around 145.I'm sure if I hadn't ran out of suitable road it would have pulled on up to 150.This is with stock gears, aftermarket gears, believe it or not, will go faster because they allow the engine to be in the higher part of the torque curve longer.
Fuel economy in town will be around 20 mpg and you can get 30+ on the road. This is if you keep your foot out of it,if not your gas mileage is as low as you want it to be.
Just for info,a 4.6 engine gets about 4 mpg running wide open.

Default RE: V6 or V8?

I for one would never own a V6 Mustang.. Why?

1) Its a mustang.. It should have a V8.. If you want a V6 then go get one of those new Tiberons by Hyndi (not sure of spelling and too lazy to look it up)
2) You will look like one of those kids who wants the fast car but can't afford it.. You know the type.. The ones who get the V6 and put on V8 style rims and dual exhaust..
3) Just because.. I just wont..

Get the V8 or don't get the car at all.. If the V8 isn't for you then look at another style car.. There some good looking, and quick 4 cyl. turbo cars out there.. Those are good on gas, look good and have decent power when you put your foot down..

Just my 2 cents.. But, what ever you do.. Don't be ONE OF THOSE KIDS!

gas milage i get around 20, nanki gets 23 with a blower and 3.73s in a GT

and if 2 people get 30k to spend on a car including the car and mods, and take them both to the track to run them, im guessing if modded right the 6er would win

Test drive one of each and then make a decision. I have a GT and my daughter has a V6. To me there is a big difference between the two.

No offense to those driving a V6, but just from driving my daughter's V6, you may as well be driving a 4 cyc. Honda Accord. I have a Honda Accord as a daily driver and the GT is my weekend vehicle.

i had a 2003 V6 and i enjoyed it, but you will always crave more power.
GT's look better.
if anything go for the cobra..03/04 terminator that should make you happy for a while.

i get about 14-16 MPG in the city and have got 25+ on the highway.
in the end, its what ever you want..[8D]

I love my GT, but you should get what makes you happy, and don't take any crap from me or anyone else about your decision.
You could take the money saved if you buy a v6 instead of the GT, and use that money to modify your car, making it one fast, sneaky bastard.

You know what I chose.
Now we want to see what you choose.
Whatever the choice, I will congratulate you on your Mustang purchase, and welcome you into the family.
