NASA Pro Racing adds new directors
WEST/MIDATLANTIC: New Directors for 2006 Season March 23, 2006
NASA is pleased to announce new leaders for two regions of the American Iron Series for 2006. Andy Bowman will be stepping into the Director position for the West Series and Jimmy Bost will be taking the reigns for the Mid Atlantic tour.
Andy has a history with motorsports starting in 1986 racing for Yamaha USA with North County Yamaha out of Escondido, CA. Andy raced the Baja 1000 and Baja 500 in 1986, 1987, 1988 and 1989. Car racing became his primary interest in 1999 with the purchase of his 1999 Mustang Cobra and he immediately began participating in open track events with NASA and other club events, as well as SCCA SOLO events. In 2004, after five years of training, Andy obtained his racing license and began his racing career in the American Iron series. Andy closely follows Grand-Am Cup, Speed World Challenge GT, Le Mans Series ALMS and Formula One racing. Outside of motorsports, Andy is Vice President of Sales & Marketing for a national tradeshow/events services company in San Diego, CA. Andy is married to his wife Roseann with two kids, Brianna and Brendan.
Jimmy is a Virginia native who began working on Mustangs at age 14 with his dad who is a professional mechanic and ex-drag racer from the 60’s and 70’s. Jimmy graduated from James Madison University in 1997 with a degree in Integrated Science and Technology is a certified Network and Systems Administrator currently working for the US Air Force. Over the years, he’s owned nothing but Mustangs until his recent tow vehicle purchase. He currently owns just two, a '96 Mystic Cobra AI racecar and a '65 289 hardtop. His first ride on a road course with Bryan Shugg back in 2001 completely changed his life. His daily driver immediately began its transition to a full-blown racecar and he began his transition to becoming a road racer. Jimmy lives in Centreville, VA with his wonderful wife, Jen and two cats, Scotchy and Fenwick. Jimmy adds that, “I am very excited to be taking this next step with NASA. I look forward to working with NASA and the AI staff to bring an increased awareness to road racing and American Iron.”
NASA and the American Iron family welcome Jimmy and Andy to their new positions and we look forward to great leadership from these two talented and enthusiastic racers.
