Default 06 gt vs 99 gt, both manuals

One of my freinds at school has a 2006 gt with hurst shift kit and full bassani exhuast and is lowered around an inch and a half. I have a 1999 gt with magnaflow exhuast (but still have stock headers), cai, superchips tuner, bbk plenum, eibach pro springs, full length subframe conectors, 3.73 gears, kumho estaca supra tires 245 all the way around and was on a 87 octane tune due to high gas prices.

We did a 2nd gear roll from 30mph (we couldn't from a dig) through 4th gear. When we let off he had 1 carlenght on me.

You tuned your car b/c of gas prices....please God tell me you didn't. They make other options for this type of thing. I believe it starts with a Hon and ends with a DUH!

it got to were it was 1.75 at the cheapest place for 93 octane and i still wanted to be able to pay this month car payment and insurance so it was that or risk missing this months payment, but don't worry as soon i get this month payed its getting the aggressive tune again, cuase trust me i hated to do that.

$1.73! I paid $2.59 for premium a couple days ago, and my I paid $2.77 about a week ago! I'd kill for a $1.xx anything.

Payments do come first, but it sounds like you're right at the limit with money.

I raced a stock(i think) 05' 5sp GT in my 02' and beat him by about 2 car lengths, i have no idea what happened he must have missed a shift or was a Shi**y driver or something beacuse it should have been the other way around but we went 2x and he lost by the same amount each time. This is the only one i have ran so far, no 1 with them around here wants to play most are older guys only the 05' V6's want to go which to my suprise arnt the turds that the 99-04' 6's are (sorry 6 ers) but in my experience if you run into the right guy, the almighty 05-06 GT isnt invinceable

I totally believe you because I know how the 2 valve accelerates with 4.10s but that dude in the '05 must not have known how to drive. I would doubt that you are even getting under 14.0 on street tires with your listed mods. I never checked to see if you have a timeslip. Do you? The new V8 cars can run under 14.0 in stock form all day long with a monkey behind he wheel.

Now if you got some DRs, your gears would make the difference and you should walk a bone stock S197.......unless he had tires too.

How much did you pay for a tune, with a .30 cent diff with prem and regular gas at 15 gallon thats $4.50 3 fill ups a week $13.50 at 4 weeks $54 a month thats alot cheaper than a tune unless you did it yourself. Just dont know why you would do that, unless you did it yourself
