Definitive 05/06 ducktail + spoiler thread

ThisBlood147 -> Definitive 05/06 ducktail + spoiler thread (3/20/2006 10:09:51 PM)

Ok, anyone who knows me knows that I've been struggling to come to a decision on what ducktail spoiler kit I want to put on my 05 GT. Well, everytime I start to decide...something new and cool comes along and changes everything. And just now it occurred to me just how many spoiler kits are available for the S197 mustangs. So, given that the info on these kits has been scattered all over a number of threads (and the fact that the search function is hit and miss), I've decided to try and do a definitive, one-stop shopping info thread for the ducktail and wing spoilers that are available for our cars.
I'm asking for help from you guys. This is for all those out there that, like me, are interested in getting an aftermarket spoiler for their mustang and want to know what is available to them....and how those products rate with those who have installed them on their cars.

So, if any of you have installed an aftermarket ducktail or wing spoiler....plz come in and post some pics of it (from different angles plz, so ppl can get a good feel of how it looks on the car) and let us know what kind of quality the product you went with had when shipped to you. This will also be a good place for those in need of information to come and ask questions about the products that are out there.

Here is the list of spoiler kits that I have found thus far.....feel free to add anything new that you find.

I should also add that if anyone has requests for more pics of some of these spoilers, just ask.......I have TONS of saved pics showing good examples of what many of these kits look like on real rides.

Also, you can try the site below to help a little with your decisions. It doesn't have all the newest spoiler kits available....but it is still a good tool to help you make an informed decision on your overall car scheme.

why don't you explain a little more sleeper....I nearly left off BBR to begin with. so i wouldn't need too much more reason to remove them. I only included them because I wanted to post every spoiler item for the S197 I could find.

CainMotorsports2102 -> RE: Definitive 05/06 ducktail + spoiler thread (3/21/2006 6:47:34 AM)

CORCEL_NEGRO -> RE: Definitive 05/06 ducktail + spoiler thread (3/21/2006 1:10:07 PM)

Hey Thisblood! Great thread. I have spent a long time looking for a trunk spoiler that resembles the one on the new GT 500 (my cup of tea). At SEMA last year I was able to check out the 3D Carbon products and I was impressed with their quality. I ordered their 3 piece duck tail last week and I'm just waiting to get it back from the paint shop to put it on. I think it looks stunning. I'll post pics when done.

QuickShortBus -> RE: Definitive 05/06 ducktail + spoiler thread (3/21/2006 3:47:03 PM)

Great thread, I will have detailed pics of the Cervini's on my yellow 06 this weekend hopefully. I just wish this had been around before I ordered my spoiler it would have simplified my choice. By the way if anyone is considering the Cervini's spoiler, the quality is outstanding.

BeeStang -> RE: Definitive 05/06 ducktail + spoiler thread (3/21/2006 5:25:19 PM)

Here's one that was left off the list "3 pc Bullit Style"

Razzi 3pc Bullit style;

Good find Beestang! I've added that one to the list above. Thanks for the info[;)]

And yea, definitely post some pics whenever you guys get your spoilers on. I'm sure it's gonna help some ppl out in making up their minds on this issue........myself included. lol[8D]

pgonz -> RE: Definitive 05/06 ducktail + spoiler thread (3/21/2006 8:04:57 PM)

I really like the RK Spot line out of all the choices. I would caution you that if you have the factory spoiler now you will have to do extra body work or add in "deletes" to fill in the holes left by the original. I was all set to go with the Street scene but changed to the Xenon because of this. Not my first choice but I think will look good. RK looks really cool but I wonder about my above concern and it loks even more indpeth as it wraps around the car. Needs more research. good Luck!

Yes, a very very valid point to make for those who just starting to look for an aftermarket spoiler for their 05/06 cars. I'm thinking of breaking the list down into two parts: one for spoilers that use or cover the stock wing holes, and another for those that do not. Just have to do a little more research first to make sure I get it right.

Ummmm, I dunno. DEW?? Haven't heard that term before. All the articles/reviews about the new mustangs I've read refer to them as S197's.............replacing the SN-95's

QuickShortBus -> RE: Definitive 05/06 ducktail + spoiler thread (3/22/2006 10:51:21 PM)

DEW was the first designation for the new Thunderbird chassis which is what our cars were supposed to be based on. S197 is the body designation.

ThisBlood147 -> RE: Definitive 05/06 ducktail + spoiler thread (3/24/2006 9:20:42 PM)

Alright, I've got another site with some ducktail possibilites. I'm not gonna add them to the main list above just yet, as I haven't gotten any feedback on this company or their products yet. They are, however, gonna be one of the first to offer a rear decklid replacement that has the ducktail shape built into it.......which sounds really good to me. It isn't available just yet, but I will post here when it is. I'll also contact the company and get some first hand info on their spoiler kits and let you all know. Here's the link:

Does anyone know if the xenon ducktail spoiler will cover the factory holes?

Roadie -> RE: Definitive 05/06 ducktail + spoiler thread (3/26/2006 9:51:03 PM)

That is not the Xenon spoiler. That spoiler is made by a company called Dealership designs in Jacksonville. I saw the car in the photo two weeks ago at the dealership where I bought my Mustang. If you got that photo from a site that says it's the Xenon, then maybe Dealership Designs wholesales it to Xenon, I'm guessing.

My bad if it is. I got this pic off another mustang forum under a thread for the Xenon spoiler. It looks and is made exactly like the Xenon spoiler, which is why I posted it as one. If I'm mistaken, then I apologize.
