Here are some pics of the cdc spoiler and cdc louvers(I also have the 3rd brake light kit, but you can't tell it in these pics). I had the factory spoiler and the cdc does NOT cover the holes so I to have it patched/welded up, but the guy I took it to done a great job w/ it.

How much were you charged to fill in the holes?

Thanks

It was $650 to fill in the holes, paint and install the spoiler and louvers, and install the 3rd brake light kit, and blending the entire rear quarter panels of the car. He offered to do it w/out the blending for $400 total, but I wanted it to look as close to perfect as possible. He didn't break down the quote to individual prices on each thing. I had quotes ranging up to around $1400(Ford Dealership), but it was my cousin(he owns a body shop) that did it for me so he probably went cheaper on me than he would on a lot of customers. The other quote I had was $857(from a body shop that one of my friend's cousin owns), and I figure thats about average.

It was Lake City Motors in Guntersville, AL if anyone from around NE Alabama is looking for a place to get it done.

Alright guys and gals. I called Dream Car Factory today and they told me that the DCF ducktail (along with a couple of other DCF items) has been taken off the website for the time being because they have massive backorders for those particular items. When their shipments get up to date, the ducktail and other items will be back up on the website for new orders. So just keep checking their website during the next month or two.

All 3dCarbon spoilers are available pre-painted pretty cheap (cheaper) at www.atlantamustang.com. Just throwing that out there for y'all. The 3d500 Cobra spoiler is the way to go.

RK Sport California Dreamer, Fit on one side poor, body shop did a poor job gap is off on one side. Tech support sucked too. I may have to have it redone but I haven't decided yet.

I really love the shape of that RK Sport ducktail. I just really wish the fit could be more flush with the side pieces. But overall the profile of it is awesome, stormin.

Does anyone know if the xenon ducktail spoiler will cover the factory holes?

I was wondering the same about the steeda street wing... is there any way we can all gather our info to post what spoiler cover the factor holes?

It would be soooo bad ass!

Cervini C-Series, have had NOTHING but trouble with it. Cervini blames the body shop, body shop blames Cervini. Wing is currently off the car waiting for a replacement from Cervini...paint cracked in two weeks, wing warped where the wing hits the top of the trunk. And it doesn't really fit very well...Overall, the look is awesome, but the quality was substandard.

Definately go with the CDC spoiler. I went to the SEMA show in Vegas last year one week before picking up my 06 mustang. I looked at every spoiler on the 05 mustangs at the show and the CDC if by far the best looking. I will post some pics of my car in a few days.

Well, I'll give it a shot. Here's the spoiler kits that I know or am pretty sure cover or use the stock holes:

Cervini C-wing
Xenon ducktail
Steeda....both wings
Roush ducktail
GEFRacing Legend wing
BBR LNR ducktail
Cali Dreamer ducktail
Street Scene Gen 2 wing
3D Carbon Boy Racer wing
3D Carbon Mach 3 ducktail
3D Carbon 3pc ducktail ( I THINK it covers them.......not 100% sure)
3pc Bullitt kit

These kits for sure DO NOT use OR cover the stock holes:

CDC ducktail
Street Scene Gen 1 ducktail
DCF 500GT ducktail
3D Carbon Drifting wing

If anyone has information to the otherwise........please chime in.

I really like the CDC ducktail... the shape of it is awesome, its not too flared or pointing towards the back, also covering the third brake light is awesome.. only thing I dont like about it.. it looks so damn small! Is that just an illusion or is it really short compared to some other ducktails.. it seems like the top of it is only an inch or 2 from the top of the trunk and I dont want something that low. Can anyone who has this confirm or disregard this?? I would really love to see some up close "mug shots" per se of the CDC.. Anyone who has it and some time, that would be awesome!

NastNaso,

The CDC ducktail is, in my opinion, the best looking spoiler, particularly with the emblem. This is what I am looking for my Torch Red '06. Like you, the holes make me squirm and I hated the look of those ridiculous "hole deletes" CDC offered. What a way to kill the clean look of American Muscle, you know?

The plugs you found are a cool solution for your black car, but of course for the rest of us (except maybe the silvers), we have to go with the filler route at the body shop. I wonder if fiberglass would be a better option than welding? Just a thought.

Nice car. Great spoiler!

Best,
68

bl1nkage,
The top of the CDC is only about 2 inches from the top of the trunk, and I had the holes filled/decklid painted when I had the spoiler installed. The pics on the 1st post on this page are my car w/ just after I got it and the CDC louvers. I may be able to borrow a friends camera this weekend to get more pics.

I definetly like the CDC Ducktail, with the emblem it looks sick!!!!

The only thing I am concerned about though, is filling in the holes. Spending that extra cash sucks, that means i'm gonna have to wait a bit longer to save up all the money in order to get it installed

This is a great thread, there's a lot of great information, and now I have decided on what I want!

Thank you
DG

Just make sure you get plenty of quotes, I had them ranging from $400-$1418, to paint and install the louvers and spoiler and install the 3rd brake light kit. I went w/ the $400 quote but had him do a little extra so it actually cost me $650.

That's not too bad $650 for installing/painting the ducktail and louvers and 3rd brake light!

I'll definetly do my homework try and find out the least expensive way to get that ducktail installed. I was checking out that ponybuilder.com website, and it seems pretty cool, i might get the 3D carbon body kit that's gonig to be an extra cashwad for paint

Anyways, it will all come slowy. Last friday I orderred 18X10 bullits for the rear. Can't wait! it's going to look so sick!

DG
