mustang cobra vs mustang gt

Hello,

I am interested in purchasing a mustang, probably not new but post 1996. I am interested to find out what people think about the COBRA vs the GT. I know that they are both 4.6 liters but the GT is single overhead cam and the COBRA is Dual overhead cam. I'e heard that there are more parts for the GT but the net gains from the COBRA seem better. any replys would be great.

the Cobra is making around 245 HP out of the box, whereas the GT is making 215. It all depends on if you want to spend more money for the cobra than the GT. If you haVE THE money I would go with the Cobra, if not then go with the GT. Both cars are very easy to mod..

it all comes down to price and personal preference. if ya got the money go cobra. strapped for cash go gt.

I got a 96 cobra and I like it better because one there isnt as many of them around two better interior three it comes with 305hp stock at the flywheel and the respond much much better to boost than a gt. here is what really sold me on the cobra comes stock with a steel forged crank and "six" bolt main. I paid 11,800 for mine and it only has 68000 on it. Trust me buy the cobra.

l love the exaust tone on the 96-98 cobras.

Depends on preference. The cobras respond a little better to minor mods then the GT and have a little better tone of exhaust in my opinion. But the Gt will be less expensive. So whether or not you are interested in putting money into the car or you are looking for best bang for you buck is what your looking at . I like cobra's just because it is a Cobra different breed, although i do love my GT

He's asking about the 96 cobra which was 300 hp, not the 95 cobra which was 245 like you said.
