As we all do when we're waiting on our new dream-machine, patience is the hardest part.

Dealership I ordered from told me chassis to be built on 3/27/06 and should have car by end of April from Michigan Plant (Hurray!). Emailed the info line at Saleen and Alex Bowman tells me that they have 70 orders already and that all will be built at the Irvine Plant and deliver date is 3-4 months away!

Trying to verify with dealership where exactly they've gotten their information and why it differs so much from Mr.Bowman's input. Anyone else having a similar conversation??

In the meantime, having a stroker 318i built for my Grand Cherokee running a Vortech supercharger; it was pushing about 500HP and with the stroker upgrade, we're hoping to run mid to lower 12's in May. Drive the Viper, drive the Jeep, but just can't stand waiting to drive my Extreme.......

Well, always nice to answer my own question.......Alex from Saleen was VERY prompt with his reply and clarification from the headquarters:

All Extremes will be built in Irvine, CA until 2007; then, some in Michigan plant. As of this date (3/20/06) NO Extreme's have been delivered. At present, I have 50-60 vehicles ahead of my order and the wait time IS 3-4 more months.

My guess is they will need to build more than the alloted 100 units, or better case, my investment was a sound one and they are almost SOLD OUT! Not sure where the +-100 units was started (rumored) but if there is $$ to made, they will build'em.

I understand your frustration. As a dealer I have 8 Extremes ordered, 6 are sold and 2 for stock. The 3 to 4 month wait is very possible and my understanding is that only 3 cars are done at this time. They have been put on the dyno and Steve has driven them to give his thumbs up. Production will be slow but I can promise you it will be worth the wait. Just remember you are waiting just like everyone else. Just wish I could have been the one to sell you the car.

Saleen is known for taking a long time for anything. I know of 1 saleen dealer that had a Saleen in their work bays for 3 months waiting for Saleen to ship them a speedo. Saleen's customer support and parts delivery are piss poor

Mine is done and is supposed to ship this week or next, the wait has been long, but I believe it will be worth the wait. And good news for you by the time yours is complete I am sure they will have alot of the bugs worked out. I will give you some feedback as soon as I get my hands on it and drive it.
