is the ford 9" the same as the 8.8</P>

no. its waaaaay better. a 8.8 is all you need. its what i got in mine.

the 9 inch is a serious rear that can handle way more torque, more than the 6 can make and still be streetable. but the 8.8 can handle all the torque the 6 is ever gonna make street legal. basicly, the 9 is just extra wieght you dont rreally need to get the same thing accomplished that an 8.8 can do.</P>


how much it costs depends on where you got it. i got mine at a junkyard fro 450 and had it rebuilt for 300.</P>


the swap was pretty easy, the only catch was it was damn heavy. a couple extra sets of hands will make your life alot nicer. me my dad and my freind were able to pull it off in an afternoon</P>

oh yeah. haggle the best you can. i got 4 tokikos, front and rear sway bars, and lowering springs thrown into the 450 price.

yeah i normally haggle but see i figure if my car is a 7.5 ill go with the 9" cuz im going to put in a v8 hopefully by christmas but if i have an 8.8 in my car right now which i dount i do then y not change it

well thats all good. a 9 incher should be able to take whatever you wanna throw at it. good luch with the v8. you gonna go modular or pushrod?

Anyone know what the rear end is on an Explorer? is it the 7.5 or 8.8 and if its the 8.8 could it handle a 7.5 ???
