Hey there folks!

I'm in the process of buying an '88 LX coupe (I guess you'ld call it...anyway its a non-fastback) for my fourteen year old daughter.

I have owned several Crown Vics but this would be my first Mustang. I'm buying it from a former co-worker for $300.00. Its the bright blue w/blue interior, 4 cylnder & auto. I have been told that it either needs a new fan or relay etc. Its supposed to be a good running car other than having a non-functioning fan. It is also supposed to have a minor tranny leak which isn't too much of a concern at this point.

I figured since the price is right I can tinker on it for the next two years before turning over the keys to my lil girl. Any info ya'll may have to help me out is and will be appreciated. I'm not up to speed on these cars so I figured I would look here first.

Throw me an email with good web pages for OEM & aftermarket parts and tech info.

Thanks!

NKS

i doubt that it's the fan unless the motor burned out... fans r cheap.... can get any aftermarket one for about 40 to 200 bucks depends on what u want..

As luck would have it the guy I was going to buy the car from...sold the car to somebody else. I was a bit steamed but it was his car to sell. Now I'm back to the drawing board. I found a 4cyl 92 LX fastback 87xxx miles for $2400. Its about 900 more than I want to pay. I'm looking for something I can tinker on for the next two years w/o rebuilding the entire car & drivetrain.
