I just got my mustang, don't have much money so all I can do for now is remove the air silencer and add a K&N filter. I hear this makes the car louder... this is a rather dumb question but how much louder? And is it a nice growl like a GT or just annoyingly louder? I ask this b/c the last truck I had was LOUD but not in a good way, it was just annoying.

if its what im thinking of, the air silencer being removed just is a sucking noise at about 4k rpm's (it was on an 02 gt)...unnoticable if the radio is on.  Intake changes usually won't alter the sound i don't think.

some websites recommend moving it as an alternative to buying a cold air intake system never tried it myself  but im betting the sound would almost be the same as having the cold air intake and its not that noticable

I hope you dont think taking one thing off your car will make it sound like a v8.

no, its nothing like that.  it isn't that loud.  not to mention it's the AIR silencer, not the exhaust silencer (muffler), so it's nothing like you expect, and i think knupxfon is just pulling s**t right out of his ass.  I really doubt it would sound different on a V-6 compared to a V-8.  It's just a sucking noise at bout 4k RPM's, nothing more.

only thing that would make flowmasters and true exhaust sound good  is having a lot more mods then just removing the aire silencer

O4 Cobras? I have to hear the sixer to believe that it sounds like a GT, I have to agree that a 6 will never sound like an 8.Sean37819.6553125
