Default 5k For mods, where would you go.

Basically had a 35k budget for a new car. After taxes and all got car around 30k. So have 5k to beef her up a little. I figure wheels + tires going to cost me about 2k. Leaving 3k, plan on doing intake+programmer, which packaged together is 600ish I believe. So have 2400ish to spend. Curious where you guys would take it, I do really like the Roush Body kit, so that was a possibility. But I have reservations about adding a body kit to a car, unless the engine is just as mean to match the outside. Any suggestions would be awesome.

Headers, mufflers, maybe a stereo if you got the basic system. I would get some gears and springs also to make the stance perfect with the power.

Yea i would go with the roush charger. It will not void the warranty if you get installed by a Ford person. You will want one after you spend the money on everything else. Saving up that much money for a single mod like a S/C is harder to do when you can just buy little htings here and there for around 600 bucks. I would go with the S/C out the gate, don't put the PSI too high. Between 3-7 should be fine and then you can boost it up more when you add more mods that make it safer to have a higher boost but you will have spent probably the most you will on a single mod for you car. The rest is easier. At lest for me it's harder to spend 5k on a S/C when i see ALLL these other things.

With a bias toward road course mods (vs 1320 times), for 5K I'd go with

intake and tuner - no brainer
18 inch wheels and grippier road tires
Roush/StopTech Big Brakes

I personally think exhaust is a waste for a stock GT - not much bang/buck with 05+ and stock sounds so good as is.

I like the stock ride and have decided against springs and dampers for now. But then again, after a few more road course runs with the tire abd brake upgrade, I'd probably want that next.

Supercharger would be first on my list. an extra 100 ft-lb off idle would really make the power legally enjoyable. For driving enjoyment, screw the high rpm horsepower and get all the torque you can- you'll feel that at every stoplight, not just at the dragstrip, or on your way to a speeding ticket.

magnacharger is supposedly coming out with a roots style blower pkg starting at 3500 non intercooled, with the part throttle bypass to maintain highway mpg(like saleen/roush). I emailed last week about 'how soon?' no reply yet.
Supposedly intercooler can be added at any time later for another 800 or so, dont think I'd really need that as not intending more than daily driver torque boost, but maybe later on...the roush/saleens look good too, but I just cant see 6 grand for a fancy air pump and some plumbing...probably worth the power gains, but still- I doubt if ford spends more than a couplek building complete 3v engines...mass produced blowers must have about a 1000% profit margin...besides less expensive the magnacharger is polished or powdercoated too

thats my 2 cents worth- or 3500 bucks worth

Thanks for the replies, keep them coming as well. Doubt I will go the SC route at this time, just because they seem soooo inflated atm. Seems like within a year or two they might come down a bit.
