im looking into buying a saleen hood and was wondering if it is driven or sitting out in the rain if it will effect the engine. and also im about to buy some used saleen rims. the guy said they are made by speedline and they are real saleen rims. they have saleen stamped into the lip of the rims. if any one could please help me i would be thankful.

if you guys arent answering me because i dont have a real saleen then thats stupid. i couldnt afford a real saleen when i got my car and now its my "baby" and dont want to sell it to buy a saleen so im just building one up but im not going to put all the saleen badges on it because its not a real saleen. i just love the looks of them. so plz help me

If the wheels have Saleen stamped on them they are authentic.

As far as the hood, I think the engine will get a little wet but not much.

I BELEIVE SOME OF US ALREADY ANSWERED YOU ON THIS.BUT ANYWAY.THE MOTOR IS NOT GOING TO GET WET THAT YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE ANY PROBLEMS.I DON'T DRIVE MY SALEEN IN THE RAIN,BUT I DID GET CAUGHT IN A DOWNPOUR FOR 2 HRS ONCE AND I HAD NO PROBLEMS.BUT AS FOR WHEN IT SITS AND IT RAINS.THE HOLES IN THE HOOD ARE NOT DIRECTLY ON THE MOTOR.SO I SAY GO FOR IT.IT'S A NICE HOOD,AND IT WILL REALLY COMPLIMENT YOUR CAR.

blown. sorry if your mad but i want to be 100% because i dont want to put it on if i will have problems. i know i asked this before but the answers didnt give me a clear answer and i called saleen and they couldnt even give me a straight answer. ive had people tell me that it shouldnt harm anything. The main problem that caused me to really worry about it was when i first bought the car, the dealership pressure washed my engine and a couple days later it started to missfire badly so i had to take it into the shop. a couple days after it was fixed i had my car parked facing downhill and it was rained pretty hard, the black plastic piece that is around where the windsheild wipers are had a softball sized hole in the passenger side (dealership had one ordered and was just waiting for it to come in) of it and the rain must have went into the engine bay and it caused it to missfire again (i think it was the same coil that had gotten wet) i dont know if it is common for it to missfire because of that or if i have a broken seal somewhere. that was about a year ago and i havent had any problems since the piece got replaced and it is usually outside if it rains.

anyways thanks for the help, im going to order the hood.

NOT MAD AT ALL,BUT YOU WON'T HAVE ANY DRIVEABILITY PROBLEMS WITH THE HOOD,YOUR COIL PROBLEM IS A FLUKE.THE COILS ARE NOT EVEN WHERE THE HOLES IN THE HOOD ARE.SO GET IT IF YOU REALLY WANT IT.I'VE SEEN PEOPLE WITH HOOD SCOOPS TAKE A PEICE OF VELCRO AND TAPE IT AROUND THE HOLES AND THEN TAKE A PEICE OF RUBBER MATTING AND PUT THE OTHER SIDE OF THE VELCRO ON IT.AND WHEN IT IS GOING TO RAIN JUST TO PLAY IT SAFE THEY PUT THE RUBBER MATS UNDER THE HOOD SCOOPS SO THE WATER WILL NOT GET IN.THATS JUST AN IDEA IF YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT IT.
