About an hour ago i followed a black LS1 Z28 6speed out to an empty back road. I got the jump some how and was ahead by about a half a car until about 60mph when he just took off and had at least 10 cars on me when i let off at 90. I was pretty happy with my car over all, since we both spun off the line, it was my first race with an LS1 and i knew how it would end, but i was happy.

Nice death. If you guys were racing the 1/8 mile or even the 1/16 mile, it would have been closer, LOL. Most Stangs with v8's can pretty much hang from the start, but after about 40 or 50mph, its over, killer top end for LS1's.

I agree, my freind thinks that he got beat by a ss with nitrous when it took away from him at 65-70. I thought about it l8er, he just fell another victim of the ls1. no nitrous.

My buddy has a 98 SS with a LS6 transplant. Lol, talk about a monster, he also has a 550 lift cam in it to. Race him, you'll win though, his rear end is about to go KA-PUT, the rear is totally stock.

Ouch. The stock rear on LS1s cant even stand up to stock HP...

I might sound like a panzy, but I watch reruns of Walker Texas Ranger atleast 2 times a day, and usually 4 or 5 on Monday and Tuesday. I've been watchin him since I was like 8, so its kinda hard not too.

You mean he swapped in an LS6 or just bought an LS6 conversion? They're mostly the same motor I think, just a few minor mods to the LS6. 350bhp vs 405bhp...

NIce death. As another 96 GT owner, I can normally outlaunch an LS1 and stay til they hit third gear. THen they are gone, plain and simple. ONce they move, they can MOVE.
