The "losing" dealer in my bid for an Extreme called me up on a question I had regarding the warranty for a Saleen. He felt it was 3 yrs/36K but said when he checked on the new 281E, it had been reduced to a paltry 12month/12K only.
Can this be true? If so, its hard to believe I'd invest over $70K on something even the builder(s) don't have that much faith in. Tell me it ain't so!!!

It is true since 2002 that the Extreme does only have a 12month 12,000 mile warranty on the Saleen modified components. It is not that they don't believe in their product but they know how they will be used. The rest of the car is covered under Fords 3 year 36,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty. I wish I had the chance to sell you your Extreme. You would not have been suprised about the warranty because I would have told you about that difference since you are spending a lot more than the standard SC. I am only 3 hours north of you in Niles, Michigan. Let me know if you have any other questions. Love to help!
