Default Tires?

I'm starting to shop around for new wheels and tires for my car. I think I narrowed down what wheels I want but I want really cool tires. I will probably go with the stock GT 17" size P235/55R-17. I have looked at tirerack.com and discount tire direct but the photos are real hard to see - they never show a photo of the tire head on, just 3/4 and of the tread. I hate my BF Goodrich 16" tires. They remind me of mini van tires [:'(]
I might go with the stock Pirellies Ford uses, but I'm not sure.

Can anyone give me suggestions?

18's or 20's is my suggestion with nitto 555's or some toyo's there are a thousand different opinions, you really need to see pics to get a good idea, watch out for wheel gap though. Don't rush into it, make sure they are what you want before you buy. I bought mine early and now i wish I would have waited and got the 20's. These are 18" rims with 255/45's in rear 245/40's in front. long story on the tire size, but if I could sell the set for a decent price I would, and get 20's

I have a Discount Tire store near my house (they have the wheels I want) so I will pay them a visit. I hope they know their stuff.

I got my wheels and tires at America's Tire Co (it's the same as Discount Tires)... I went for the same Pirelli's the GT uses and couldn't be happier. Much stickier in the corners... they ride and grab great... though, I'm still able to burn a bit o' rubber when I want to. They are legions above the stock BFG's.

The wheels I want are 17 X 8 with a back space of 30mm or 40mm? Now that confuses me! I don't know what off set to get. They are both the same price and both listed under the wheels that will fit our cars.

MY favorite tire, (lil spendy) is the the goodyear Eagle F1s they are AWESOME tires, i would never fly with nething else, i cant find a better all around performance tire... i REALLY like the GS-D3s but the supercars are awesome.
