I suppose the badge could have been removed/stolen from the dash. How about the firewall - there should be a metal plaque on the engine bay, and there should be a Saleen Mfr sticker on the drivers side door sill right by the Ford sticker. As for the painted door trim, the S281's did not get painted inserts but the S351's did.

Yep - as cobracars stated above. Unfortunately the registry does not offer any other info than that (color, etc.....) The stock hp for these cars was 285 w/315 ft lbs of torque. Typical laundry list of suspension and appearance upgrades.

If you buy it, make sure you get EVERYTHING available for it (window sticker, Saleen letter of authencity, Saleen owners manual etc.....). If those things are not available (shame on the previous owner/s) then contact Team Saleen at Saleen, Inc. for help with those things.

Oh yeah, in 2000 there were a total of 979 Saleen Mustangs built with 307 of them being n/a coupes. MSRP on the n/a coupe was $33,900

Thanks sowaxeman. I just pick-up the Saleen...the seller did not have the Saleen letter of authencity, Saleen owners manual and window sticker. I will try to get them from Team Saleen. Finally I got myself a Saleen.:)

Help us out man - what year is the car??

After decoding the VIN it appears to be a 2000 Coupe - is that correct. If so the last 3 digits of the VIN and the Saleen #114 check out. However the the VIN should start out as 1FAL, not 1FAF

The L means ACTIVE RESTRAINT (air bags & active belts). Not sure what the descrepancy is there.

The paint code on the door should be UA for Black Clearcoat. It was build on 11/3/99 and the no owners were registered to this car. It has a Saleen Composit Hood, Saleen Leather Seats, Carbon Fiber Interior Accents, Saleen Floor Mats & Traction Control. No SuperCharger listed so I assume this car is still n/a?

Sowax....where did you pull the paint code from? I have the saleen book and haven't seen any paint codes in the registry (maybe I don't know where to look...)

I didn't pull the code from the registry, I just went by his word on it being black. In the main portion of the book at the end of each chapter is the specs for each year - that is where I found the paint code for 2000 Black. I guess I was just letting him know so he can look at the door label to verify it is still the original color

On the 99-up cars it isn't uncommon for the console plaque to be missing. Mine was missing in my 99 and Saleen knew about it. They sent me one a year later!
