What are you asking - are you trying to sell or buy it?

2005's cannot be verified yet as the official registry is only current through 2003. You'll need to call Team Saleen at Saleen HQ to verify 2004+ cars.

As for value, its really all based on how bad the buyer wants it. What color is it - if its Mineral Grey, Sonic Blue or Legend Lime then it might bring a few k more than the other colors (Sonic & Mineral were '05 only, Legend was 05-6 only). The car MSRP'd for $44k, but is going to depreciate hard in the early years . Whats the mileage, is it in showroom condition, etc.....

I've seen them go for under $30k on ebay.

yep i'm probably going the ebay route. hoping to get one for $29k at most, dont really care about the color, just not silver. now im looking at another one that is black and has 3k miles and according to the seller, is in showroom condition. didnt meet his reserve on ebay but i think i have a decent chance of talking him down to 29k. he said he had his reserve at 33k, but there's no way for me to know that for sure. for all i know it was set at 30k. thanks for the help, BTW this one is 61--pretty early

Sounds legit - decodes as 2003 car # 190, last 3 of Ford VIN match as 757. It's an SC, not an Extreme.
Book shows it is a supercharged car, 13" brakes, performance cooling, lightbar, black convertible top.

Sup everyone, forum newbie here and new owner of a 2006 S281SC

I know the registry isn't out yet for the 2006's but just wanted to share probably a rare serial # on my Saleen since the numbers are in sequential order which is #1234 (06-1234) so I feel like I've won the lottery! LOL'z

I'm quite sure it's an authentic Saleen since it was purchased at a saleen authorized dealership.

Hey man, I've got a similar question. Found an S281E for sale that I want to verify it's authenticity. It's a 2002, #42 with a vin# of 1FAFP42X92F193276. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Shawn

02-0042E shows a last 3 Ford VIN # of 276 (so that matches). It's a hardtop, built 7/26/02, with no other options. Last owner was in Texas (as of 2004).

Yep, I carfaxed it and that's what it told me.... first sold in Texas. So the last three digits match up according to a guide you've got? Sounding pretty legit then, huh? He wants 30k for it which seems like a really good deal for an "E". Wouldn't you say?

The Saleen number will also appear on a metal plate underhood, and a plastic plate in front of the shifter.
The info is organized by Saleen's car number, so it's MUCH easier to look up that way.

Hi,
Im interested on this car. 2001 White/black top, chrome rims, light bar, 50K miles. The guy's asking 18,000 for it.
VIN:1FAFP45X01F135230
Saleen # 01-0152
Does it have a regular GT engine with Saleen's pulleys?
Thanks!

01-152 decodes as:
Last 3 Ford VIN of 230
Convertible
Shipped 11/30/00
Painted Door Cups
Floormats
Chrome Wheels
Black Top

In the registry (2004) in Florida

$18k is probably about average given the miles and naturally aspirated motor. The N/A motor was rated at 285 hp. They had pulleys, filter, catback, and Saleen tune.

hey everyone. just joined have always loved fox bodied stangs especially the Saleen. Saw one recently on Ebay that needs some work but seems like a decent price and wanted to confirm if it was a real Saleen. Vin number is 1FABP41E0KF159127 and it is number 363. It also has a sunroof in it, is there anyway to tell if this was a factory installed option? Thanks hopefully will be a Saleen owner soon :)
