2000 #136 checks out legit with that VIN number It was shipped on 11/12/99 and recieved the Composite Hood (although doesn't say its an SC so I assume its an N/A car), 3.55 rear, Chrome Wheels w/Tire upgrade w/10" rear wheels, Saleen Mats, Twin Guage Pod.
BTW - its sister car #137 has all the same options, except its a Speedster ('Vert) and was shipped the same day. I'm thinking you need to find that one too and park them side by side in the garage
Thanks to David, Mike, Saleen326 and the other guys in here that answer all the questions before I can get to them. The Saleen Book is a very valuable tool and should be utilized prior to the purchase of any Saleen if you are in doubt

I just bought a 1998 S351 convertible, #31 ..Its black w/ Gold powder coat wheels, Vin checked out w/ Saleen but I have no Idea how to value it. The car has 32000 miles. Carfax is true, and I paid $18,000 >> I have Original sticker from saleen with a price of $67000,Think I got a good deal or is this just a old saleen mustang.
Well I would say you got a great deal considering you hardly see S-351's going for much less than $30k...some well above that! The miles aren't too bad, whats the condition....is it a DRIVEN car with all the nicks and dings to show for it or is it in showroom condition? Any disclosed problems or problems that were fixed? $18k is pretty low IMO, so I would wonder if something is wrong with it or if the seller really didn't know what its worth. Hopefully its the latter and you can rest assured that you got a great deal
Hi, I was looking to buy this 2000 GT Saleen, and I couldnt tell form the pictures if it was real or fake. The Vin is 1FAFP42X9YF174669 and it's listed as #300. Thanks

669 matches the vin for #300. Listed as upgrades for this car: 3.55 gears, hood, 10" rear wheels, mats, Chrome wheels, tracControl, FLeather
The spoiler, side badges, front and rear bumper, and C pillar all look correct for 2000. It has a badge below the stereo (which you can't read...but it seems to be there).
If you want to be 100% sure you can call Saleen and verify the VIN. Then check to make sure they gave you the right vin when you look at the car.
Looks pretty good from what I see. Maybe I'll buy it....! j/k.
Guy who had bought it died, his estate laywer has it , he could not find a price..compared to a gt or cobra..Not in showroom, driven on weekends, still looks good..some minor paint chips on front lower body kit area. I did drive it...FAST FAST FAST
I am looking at a saleen vert. Someone told me that it is a clone but the seller states it is real. The person who told me it was a cone stated that it was switched over from a 2000 Saleen.
First is 95 s351 vert #18 Second is 97 s351 coupe #35
If anybody could please check what the last 3 digits are on their VINs and also the options they had stock I would REALLY REALLY appreciate it. Just looking to see if they are what the owner's claim.
Also, anybody know what would be involved in bringing an s351 from out of state into California? Just wondering if i'd even be able to.
95-0018: Last three of the VIN 666; first owner lived in TX (James Barr); Options listed were TCode, TireUp, Twin Pod, Spy and a Black Top
97-0035: Last three of the VIN 863; first and second owners were from CA (Perez and Sebetic, respectively); Options listed were Speedster and a Black Top
Can't help with the CA question, but it looks like the 97 was already there for a while

So the 97-0035 is a vert speedster with a black top? :X
Could you double check just to make sure? It's being sold as a Saleen S351 white coupe with 7500 on the clock. He says he's got all the paperwork including the window sticker, and the thing is even signed by Steve, himself. I just wasn't expecting this one to come up wrong. The other one, I was, but it turned out to be right, how ironic. :(
Mills has been hitting the sauce again, or having a black car is making him go blind... Anyway, he gave the info for S281 97-035, not S351 97-035.
For future requests, it works MUCH BETTER if you give us the Saleen number and VIN. S351 97-035 - the VIN # given in the ad matches the Saleen book, with a 2pt chassis brace listed as the only option. If you're SERIOUS about the car, I'd call Saleen with the complete VIN and ask them to verify the car - there DOES appear to be an error in the registry regarding the chassis type of this car. The VIN # in the ad is correct for a coupe. There is only 1 owner listed, in Indiana.
