You have to call Patti at Saleen for the LOA's. They are given to new owners when the car is purchased new and registered. Beyond that, I believe re-prints for secondary owners will have a fee involved.
There is a fee involved. It's 35 bucks. Although I hope you don't want it right away because it took me 3 months to get mine after I ordered it from Pati. Her e-mail address is Pati.Reard@saleen.com
If you only want a photocopy of your window sticker on regular letter-sized paper, it's free and usually takes less time. E-mail your car info (Ford VIN and Saleen production number), phone, mailing address and she'll get to it as soon as she can.
I had e-mailed the seller about this vehicle yesterday requesting some pictures. His response is below. The VIN matches 1995-0014SR. I guess my question is, if it was never raced or driven hard, why a rebuild and such high miles. I understand that the 351's had there issues, but it doesn't make sense. The SR is a race car. So why buy if you don't plan on racing? Just me wondering. Here was his response that I received earlier today. Hope this helps. If in doubt, contact Saleen tomorrow and give them the whole VIN an Saleen ID and they can make sure it's real.
I have listed the Saleen for my brother-in-law. He has not been able to drive the car for six years due to his health, but he has kept the car securely garaged at his home. My wife, who has seen the car recently, assures me that the car is in good condition. It has never been wrecked or raced and has been well maintained. I will try to get some photos up, but I cannot guarantee that I can since I am in the Atlanta area. If I can get photos, I will get them posted on the ebay listing. Thank you for your interest!
I was wondering if you could check a vin on a saleen I am looking at purchasing. The VIN is 1FAFP42X7YF212643. Im not sure of the bumper number but I believe it is in the 700's, 750's maybe.
What year? Coupe or Convertible? Let us know and someone will check for you. Also, if you could figure out the Bumper #, that would be a great help. Thanks.
If your talking about the 2000 from your post on Stangnet, yes it is real. 00-0756, last three of the VIN 643. Options are: Supercharger, Mats, and Chrome wheel upgrade. Shipped 07-22-2000
I can not locate any of the registration #'s for my 1999 Saleen Cobra Convertible.......is it really a Saleen or a very expertly constructed clone? All I have to go on is the VIN # 1FAFP46VXXF178978.......Thanks for the help
Any idea as to what the Bumper # is? If it is a real Saleen Cobra, there should be an engine plaque on the driver side of the firewall and a shifter plaque on the center console. Saleen Cobra's are very rare as only 20 were made for 1999, 12 of those being convertibles. If you can find out the Saleen ID I can check later on tonight. Or you can call Saleen and give them the VIN and they will verify it directly.

Sorry, of the 12 convertibles - 6 Black(328, 329, 333, 345, 354, 355), 5 White(322, 326, 327, 331, 357), 1 Rio Red(324) built, none of them have a last three VIN of 978

The 99 Cobra you asked about may be the clone car that has been on ebay several times. If it is then the seller knew it was a fake before selling it. The 95 that was asked about a few posts up sound like a scam. I am in Atlanta and to my knowlegde there is no 95 SR in the area. Personally I would walk away from it. Before long they will ask for western union.

Just looked on ebay. That car kinda exists in Alabama last I heard. Only thing is the options it lists aren't correct. If I had to guess I would say the ad is a scam. Ask the seller for contact info with the owner. I know who the owner in AL is. Just shoot me a pm and I will tell you if its the correct one. It was for sale a few years ago and the guy didn't sell it if I remember. He knew what he had too. Its also not a widebody and wasn't driven very much.

Not driven much, he said that the car hadn't been driven for the last 6 years and it still has 117,000 on it. What happen a few years ago when it was for sale??? Do you think this car is real or not??? What wrong with the options ?

I'm not buying that it! Its a scam in my opinion. I remember the car from a few years ago. It didn't have that many miles on it then. Someone e-mail the guy and ask for contact info and ask what the owners name is?

ORIGINAL: brandonb Just wanted to see if you can check on vin# 1FAFP45X02F143586 (#315) Saleen Convertible 2002. Thanks in advance.
Yep. This one checks out with the 586. To make sure, contact Patti at Team Saleen. Registry lists 02-0315 as a Demo model.
Also... if you pick up a Saleen. Make sure to order a copy of "The Saleen Book" by Brad Bowling. Hours of reading and photo fun!!! (All for only $69.00 shipped.) http://www.bradbowling.com/

Tell us the year please!! Makes is so much easier than having to decode the VIN
As a review for all the new folks in here (since apparently Post #1 is not being read ) In order for us to confirm a Saleen's legitimacy, we need the following:
Year Last 3 digits of the VIN Bumper/Serial number
Without all three pieces of the puzzle you make it a challenge to look up - and most of us (myself included) would rather not decode a vin or search through 10's of pages of 4pt font to find the car in question.
Also - the registry is only going to help you if you are inquiring about 1985-2003 Saleens. Only 3 '84's were built, and all are owned by the same collector so any '84 you see out there is a clone. 2004 and beyond, you must call Saleen directly as we have no documentation to go by.
Not trying to sound irritated, just reviewing the procedures here since this section is growing everyday and this thread has become pretty popular the past couple years
