I just bought a 2006 GT that I intend to use for show/drag primarily. The car will see a little street time but not much and always in perfect weather. I see I'm somewhat limited in suspension upgrades by availability since the application is so new but was wondering if I could get a recommendation on a setup for my application.

I purchased and am in the middle of applying the Cervini's body kit. I am somewhat limiting my performance capabilities with the 20x10" wheels (rear). I have a set of BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW2 285/30YR20 XL tires on order for the rear with 20x8.5" wheels and 255/35WR20 XL tires for the front. I know it's best to stick to one application (drag/road/show) but I really want a combination with preference towards drag but still streetable with a lowered stance.

Cervini's was using parts from Kenny Brown but I understand parts availability may be an issue now. Can you recommend a complete setup with those goals in mind? I know a little about suspension setups but only enough to know I need serious help from professionals. ;) Thanks! -Joe

*edit: Oooops, forgot to mention power goals should be in the 400+ RWHP range and it's an auto (please don't laugh [sm=smiley5.gif]

The two most common modifications for the 05-06 are springs and shocks.

I would suggest either the Steeda or Eibach springs. Both only lower about 1 inch, so you will not run into rubbing/scraping problems with your Cervini body kit.

For Shocks/Struts I'd recommend the Tokico D-spec kit. These are fully adjustable and will allow you to soften up the rear end at the drag strip, then tighten it up back on the street.

I believe the above two mods will be a perfect combo of drag/street/appearance...

Of course, there are tons of other modifications you can do, such as strut braces, chassis stiffening, bumpsteer kit, etc. but I'd start with the above...

Sincerely,

Thanks for the info! If it were yours and you wanted to do it all at once, what else would you add to it? -Joe

If you wanted to go above and beyond shocks/struts and springs...... sky is the limit!

There are many other modifications you can do... I would start with Swaybars, Rear Control arms (lower and upper 3rd link), as well as a new adjustable panhard bar.

For the front end, the control arm bushings, strut bars, and brake upgrades are very popular...
