Default How long will this mustang look be around for?

Right now i have a 2003 mustang that my parents have on lease until 2007 (dont worry i pay for it...everything!) anyway...i think that this mustang might be bought out for my little sister, but i will probably have to hold on to it for another year. I really really want the NEW retro looking mustang GT! Will this body style be around in 2008?

Thanks!

I would think it will be. They haven't released an actual Cobra for the new body style yet.

history tells the future...they normally make a major change the body style every 5 years

There's a concept floating around the forums for the 2009 year. I saw it in off topic today, so it's possible they'll change in 09.

That '09 is an '05 concept drawing.

The original show car design for the 05 will probably be close to the "freshening" they do for the line on the '10. The new Shelby has some of these design elements, while the forthcoming Mach 1 and Boss models will have a few more scattered around. Look for the front and rear bumper covers to be modified - these plastic bits are easily changed, even year to year.

The '10 design will probably appear as a show car exercise some time in 2007, but be "detuned" for production and end up looking much like the original S197 concept show car. For some reason, this always seems to happen. Another change will be to the platform, which I predict will be downsized just a bit (the 05's ended up being a rather large, heavy car) and considerably lightened. The V6 will be swapped out for the all aluminum 3.5, and the transmissions will be new, with the V6's likely to get a CVT unit. Look for all the cars to get electric water pumps, electric power steering pumps, and perhaps regenerative braking systems (technology borrowed from the hybrid cars) feeding power into a high-tech battery pack - sort of a "semi-hybrid" progression.

Everything I keep hearing says that the mustang will see a redesign for the 09 or 010 year models.
