While at the track tonight I saw a few interesting races. The first was an 03 Cobra against my buddys Orange 99 Z28. Remember the Z28 has 2.73 gears, he walked the Cobra by nearly half a second on street tires. Cool race. Cobra ran pretty good, best I have seen so far down here.
Next race is gonna upset the GT guys, it was an riced out Neon vs a 98 or 99 GT. The Neon got him by a good long distance, I was rather surprised considering I heard the Neon owner talking about how it was running 10's in the 1/8th. So once again, I havent seen a GT run in the range to get a 13 in stock trim. I keep hearing about it but never see it. One of our club members knows of one and also Mandi had one, wht gives they cant all be that bad at driving.
Third was an 87-89 Fox with a Vortech on it. He had just beaten one of our quicker LS1's that was on spray, he pulled another neon without a wing and crap, gave him the leave and kinda walked it out all nice and calm like, lettin the neon kid think hes doing really good. Then he opens it up and catches him, and hops it next to him as he goes down the track, like on the throttle off it, then on again. Thats at least a high ten second stang racing about a 16 second Neon, I like that stang ALOT!!!
ps I broke the rear ion the GTO, friction welded the posi clutches together doing a full track smoky. One tire stopped spinning and that over heated the clutch in the posi causing it to become more like a spool... oh well time to put the 12 bolt in...
